ARTOTEL Cabin Bromo

The cabin is small and poorly insulated. It was very cold in the night and early morning. The breakfast spread is limited and food quality below average. Service was slow and we had to repeat our request several times. Overall, the hotel standard is below our expectation considering the room rate is about USD180/night.

Tough place to review, you’re 1.5 miles up on an active volcano so you’re there to see the volcano. 🌋 Here is what you need to know: The cabins are NOT heated and it gets cold at night. The hot water is 30 liters and it takes an hour to reload. To see the sunrise you leave at 2:30am in an unheated jeep, there is jeep traffic hellbut you make it up by 5am you’re on the equator so it does not change much. Mt Bruno at dawn is cool and sunrise wasn’t bad either, very dark skies amazing stars and shooting stars. Food was ok but breakfast didn’t have bacon or ham some strange sausage, eggs were good though, lots of Indonesian food. Glad I did it to be honest, lots of walking though.

The location of the hotel is stunning while the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and provide you with all comfort to explore the bromo vulcano. The restaurant serves nice food.

The rooms do not have a heating system. By day this is no problem but during the nights it can get cold. An extra blanket could be provided in the rooms. + also in the restaurant it can get chilly. Tip: an extra shelve under the sink in the bathroom could be useful.

Great location with spectacular views

Breakfast was disappointing in terms of the food mix and quality and the fact that they were playing terrible covers of children's nursery rhymes throughout breakfast

Location was great with fantastic view especially sunrise.

Flies issue is ongoing. Other than that everything was perfect.

Great view, close to bromo, cozy bed. Staff was helpful.

Cabin is quite cold overnight and quite warm during the day. Food was not great.
