"Brilliant chalet, brilliant holiday!"

8.0

The host is great with all communication, friendly and fast responding. Comfy and clean accommodation, loved the little personal touches with the easter chocolates and a book gift. Fantastic view into the fields, the shortcut takes you straight to the main beach which is great. We loved the two outdoor spaces outside the chalet where you can sit and relax on the chairs...one with the view of the green shared with neighbours and the other facing the fields with lambs. All the fun of the sports complex with a swimming pool and the arcade and Parkdean site evening entertainment are a 3 minute walk away and so is the shop and restaurants.

The door lock was difficult to open, maybe needs looking at. Took a lot of fumbling around. And there were some ants and a random slug in the property but I guess because it is close to nature and they just got in somehow. A rather big seagull dropping smudge on the window and the outdoor table too when we arrived. The only big thing that affected the children was the TV didn't work well because of antenna problems. We found one of the bath towels was clean but funny smelling. You might want to mention on the website that you have duck down duvets because some people have an allergy to it. Like one of my children did. But we found one duvet there that suited him. Also, my children are not into witches at all and the chalet was decorated with childrens witchcraft book illustrations throughout. Very tastefully so, but it did cause some upset with the kids who were scared to stay in their rooms alone because of the theme. So perhaps consider for future that some children may find the illustration subject unsettling. Otherwise grateful for the stay. Thanks a lot!

More transparency in the property description is needed with rates/ prices for the 'optional extras' e.g. additional price for dog after you've paid for a 'pets welcome' property. Also the additional price for accessing Park Dean's facilities - again show in description as 'access to pools' included but its only buried very deep in a FAQ that there 'may be additional charges' to access those facilities - and they are not cheap.

"Heaven"

10.0

The Chalet was perfect for what we wanted - well equipped, nicely decorated, good quality and just lovely. We didn't really have much to do with the actual resort, but it was 5 minutes from the beach and sea, so we were in 7th heaven. Thank you so much.

"First time ever having to leave a property because it was unfit for humans to stay in."

1.0

Nothing.

- Chalet appeared to have not been cleaned. - Oven looked like it had never been cleaned and had hairs, dried grease and old food all over (see photo). Baking trays and oven were a hygiene hazard. - No rubbish bin. - Chalet absolutely stank of dog. - Dog hairs covered the sofa and were floating in the air. - Dining chair legs were rusting and when I sat on one it nearly collapsed. The others were just as bad. They are an accident waiting to happen for someone unluckier / heavier than me. Again, a serious hazard. - Dining chairs had crumbs on from previous guests, looked like croissant. Hygiene hazard. - Dining table had stains and was filthy. Another hygiene hazard. - No privacy as the filthy old curtains do not cover a third of the windows. Whilst we understand the property is dog friendly, we travelled with our four month old baby and the chalet was not habitable for humans, let alone a young baby. We have never left somewhere (after 45 minutes) before because it was unsuitable for humans to stay. Travel Tales Holidays have failed the very basics of providing clean and safe accommodation. They refuse to refund any of the £228 we paid and have stopped communicating with me after I sent them video evidence of the disgusting property (they asked video to be sent to a Yahoo account so seems to be a cowboy outfit with no business address). I can only urge anybody who doesn’t like the sound of the above to cancel their pre-booking if they have one here and anyone considering this as a get away location please look elsewhere.

"Lovely stay with kids"

9.0

Beautiful little chalet. Had all the extras like coffee, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and shower toiletries etc. When we arrived there was a little wrapped package for the youngest guest and was a book. Such a nice touch! Beds and beddings were comfy and once the heating was on it was snug and warm.

No negatives! Only small thing would be a later check out time maybe 11, but when we were running behind due to the kids sleeping I messaged to ask if we could leave at 10.30am and got a reply straight away to say that was fine as they had other guests arriving so needed to be cleaned. Was very appreciative for the extra 30 mins thank you so much!
