Its just within the heart of the town but on the quite street area, which means you can still sleep peacefully at night. The caretaker is very accommodating also.

great location and great value for money. the water in the shower does stay warm for a long time and you do get daily housekeeping which is nice too. air con works good. we rented a bike from the property for 3 days and the bikes are in great condition. it’s a pretty quiet area, there’s 24/7 reception and they also always try to keep the property clean. there is breakfast available but we’re both vegan so didn’t try it out. you’ll find the property under “vip hostel” on google maps as it doesn’t come up.

we were in the mountain view room and in the room description it says it includes a terrace so i was expecting one with the room but there’s not, it’s just one terrace for all of the rooms which is quite misleading. the room also doesn’t have a kettle like listed. the rooms are very small, and the bathroom is kind of awkward to use. it is very bright at night as the curtains are very thin and the window looks out onto the main road, even though it’s not a busy road there’s still businesses and people there so we had the curtain shut basically the whole time. there’s also no water available there apart from one small bottle you get upon check in. we also booked tour d with the hotel to be told it couldn’t run due to weather conditions so we asked to do it the day after but if not they said tour A was running instead. we ended up doing tour A instead and paying 1900 pesos each, plus the 300 kayak fee. after looking at other tour companies that advertise i think that’s a bit expensive, we never said anything but i’d maybe just think about asking around others first as i think we got ripped off. plus we were told they were coming to pick us up between 8:30-9 and but it was actually at 8 so we weren’t ready at all.

Great location— quiet side street but just a short walk to all the shops. Breakfast on the roof top with a nice view of the cliffs. They also let me hang my wet swimsuits on the rooftop clothes line. Rooms have both AC and fan. Friendly staff. Make sure to tell drivers “VIP Hostel” because no one knows the name Casa Mariella— our tour driver was a half hour late because he could t find it.

Small rooms. Water pressure depended on the room. Some rooms are a bit bright at night because of big windows and thin curtains. Breakfast was simple but nice, but there’s no choice of breakfast, it’s whatever they serve (ours was usually eggs with pancake or toast).

Good location. On a quiet street but just a few minutes’ walk to all the shops, beach, etc. Breakfast is very simple but decent, served on the rooftop with a view of the cliffs. Friendly staff who can help with tours, laundry, etc.

Water pressure was not great, but enough for a shower. Room was pretty small but the AC worked well. Thin curtains so our first room got bright early and woke me up— would’ve liked black-out curtains. We changed rooms and the second had only a small window so it wasn’t so bright.

Very central location. Close to everything on foot (street food courts, restaurants, boats departures, shops...), yet still quiet without any noise at night. Very nice team, Patricia helped us organise our tours, our vans to Puerto Princesa and answered the questions we had. She let us stay on the rooftop with our friends that were staying in other hostels which was also very convenient. Good WiFi in the building. Breakfast on the rooftop with cliff view. Rooms and common areas are very clean.

Hot water system in the room was a bit confusing. On Maps / with your drivers you'll find it under VIP Hostel. Lots of stairs (3-4 floors) to access breakfast so be careful if you are in poor health or have any injury.
