1 Queen Bed and 1 Sofa Bed, Studio B, 25 Glenfell Place, Epsom, Auckland

You are in the middle of an upper class area of Auckland. Close to a great restaurant in Good Home Epsom. Right next to the Mount Epsom crater walk. Not a long drive to Westfield Newmarket and close to the motorway exit/entry.

I mean the place is small. The Beds were a little uncomfortable. Only a small fridge and no cooking facilities, but there is a microwave and jug, I couldn't find a toaster which I thought they were supposed to have. Before booking I knew there was no cooking, so not a big deal. And I knew it was small. So there were no secrets kept. The place met my expectations.

Close and cheap, but still quality was very low despite price

None of the links sent to me would open so I had no idea where the parking was, thankfully as I had travelled by motor cycle I was able to park it at the entrance. There were electric jugs in the wardrobe but no tea making facilities to be found anywhere including no glasses for drinking water. The wardrobe also contained a fridge, I found the fridge door was ajar and the fridge was still turned on, as a result the fridge had defrosted and leaked onto the carpet in front of the wardrobe leaving a large damp patch. The door of the fridge would not close for some reason and as I was in a hurry to get to my destination I left it ajar and turned it off. When returned later that night there was an overpowering stench in the room from the damp rancid carpet in front of the fridge, I had to sleep with the door and windows open to get some fresh air. The shower door was broken and the back wall of the shower had a hole in it, also some black mould was forming in the corner at the bottom part of the shower cubicle. There was no soap in the bathroom but I did find a hand soap dispenser at the sink in the bedroom. There were various patches of carpet and Lino placed on the floor around the bathroom these looked shabby and ill fitting and were a trip hazard. The room furnishings were a hotch potch of ill matched second hand items and the room was cluttered and very small. The carpet in the bedroom was stained and marked in places and was not very attractive. The photo I submited shows the wet patch on the carpet in front of the fridge.

Nice location and easy to find

Great location, beautiful surrounding older homes, and trees - we are from a rural town - and this was nice being not right in the heart of the city! Good location of eden park - 30 min walk or 9 min drive. We walked home from eden park and was good! Small and compact but had everything we needed. Nice and clean and great communication with hosts. If we were to come to Eden park again we would rebook this! Easy parking too. Comfy bed - but wished I brought my own pillow!

Small older shower, and no real amenities, shampoo/conditioner is like a supermarket bottle that is reused for guests. Pillows need an upgrade!

No hassle access to property. In a lovely, quiet street and with being at the foot of mount Eden it was easy to explore the mount and watch the city as the sun went down. Comfy bed and always hot water.

Very basic amenities with no added extras like tea/coffee or forks etc. Don’t rely on sofabed as 2nd bed. There was a bit of a funny smell on arrival and no insulation between this basement room and house above so noise when people walking and talking in the room above felt like they were in our room (thankfully didn’t happen for long and more noticeable as it happened at bedtime, they might have been doing work on house so this could be temporary)

Wasn’t clean from previous guests when we arrived, did get cleaned but we didn’t get into the room till 1130pm Booked for 3 people but only 2 towels were left and no sheets for sofa bed - pretty bad when charged extra for the 3rd person
