Alnwick 2 Bed Cottage Stay, Joe's Cottage

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous. Very comfy, even on a dreich November day. The heating was great but I love a wood burning stove so I also bought some logs for the stove at a nearby lovely hardware store. The cottage itself was so central and had everything I needed, including a beautiful little outdoor area at the back.

Not a dealbreaker by any means, but would have been lovely to have a basket of logs and kindling there on arrival to get the cosy vibe started.

The house was in such a good location, walking distance to shops, restaurants and pubs. It allowed us to use Alnwick as a base to go around Northumberland. The house seemed new and recently some up - the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pans for cooking, so no need to go out every evening.

The lack of off street parking was frustrating for unpacking and packing the car, but there were a number of free car parks minutes walk away from the house that had EV chargers. The garden needed a tidy, lots of weeds and things for a young pup to eat and chew! No tea or coffee provided, no shower gel or shampoo provided. The living room needed some better lighting, it was hard to keep it lit without using the main light.

A beautiful cottage within walking distance of local amenities.

Lack of parking was slightly challenging.

The cottage was very pretty, spacious, and comfortable. It contained everything we needed. The communication with Nikki was excellent. She promptly replied to my messages and was very helpful (including when I locked myself out of the house). The location is very good and close to the castle and shops.
