There were good aspects to this stay - as shown in the photos the furnishings etc are new and stylish, with lots of little details provided like tea/coffee, soaps etc in the bathroom, blankets and cushions and so on. Generally very clean, nicely decorated, and not too expensive. Blackout curtains in the bedrooms and living space were great for sleeping well, the Wifi was good, and the facilities in general in line with my expectations for an apartment. The key collection from the nearby 7/11 corner shop was easy once I requested the collection code from the host (I had to prompt for this to be shared so that I could pick up the key) - bit of extra faff but works fine if you're arriving/leaving during the shop opening times. The area is reasonably quiet, and though it didn't feel the safest on Fri/Saturday night, getting around near the building was not a problem. The host was responsive to messages including after hours, and polite throughout.

Overall a poor experience due to a few issues that really overshadowed the positives. As mentioned in a previous review there is an extensive third-party ID check, rental agreement to accept and £100 security deposit - lots of hoops to jump through outside the booking site's usual requirements. Communication left much to be desired: host responses didn't always address the question or give complete information. For example, I contacted the host well in advance to ensure we would be able to have multiple keys for the apartment - as a group of 4 adults we wanted to be able to come and go independently. The host assured me this would be possible, but on check-in a single key was provided and we were told there was "limited stock". We were eventually able to obtain a second key, having had to adjust our plans for the first day due to the lack of accessibility/flexibility. Contractors accessed the property during our stay with little/no notice, with the host advising that blinds were being installed as part of an "emergency safety measure". The contractors advised that they were installing blinds for some photos of the property to be taken the following week. There are prominent signs around the shared areas of the building, stating that short term lets through Booking/AirBnB/Vrbo are prohibited under the lease agreement for the development. Free on street parking is available but very limited, and difficult to identify as most nearby areas are pay and display. Little things: no outdoor dining area as mentioned in the listing, no light bulb in the lamp in one of the bedrooms, clocks not functional (battery either dead or not present, decorative?), external door to the building often not fully closed posing a safety concern, a couple of bars dropped out from underneath one of the beds making it uncomfortable, coffee machine provided but no pods to use with it (instant coffee was available to use with hot water).

Awful. There was an extensive third-party identity check but no clear info about the check in advance of the day, despite my asking. The details sent were not clearly laid out, and key info not clearlly labelled. I had to walk to a random corner shop, which was closed, stand outside waiting, with no one answering the give 'emergency' number or office number. A shambles.

Lovely apartment, owner responded super fast to any questions, very handy for Digbeth, very comfortable bedrooms

No complaints, outside was slightly intimidating at night as I was by myself for most of the weekend but that's not the apartment's fault and it was super handy for Digbeth
