Iceland SJF Apartments - 503

I had a wonderful stay at these apartments! The location is perfect, just a short walk from the city center, making it really easy to explore Reykjavik. The apartment itself is brand new, beautifully designed, and well-equipped with everything you could need for cooking and comfort. I was really impressed by how clean and tidy everything was - it truly felt like home. The host was also fantastic, always available and responsive via WhatsApp, which made communication seamless. I travel frequently, averaging 5-6 countries a year, and I can honestly say that these are the best apartments I’ve stayed in recently. I would love to come back in the summer to enjoy Iceland even more. Highly recommended!

The apartment was spacious. Very clean and cozy. It was easy to find. Free parking at the site was a great bonus. Central location was good. The renter answered all my questions and was really helpful. I highly recommend this apartment. Would definitely choose this again. Absolutely nothing negative.

Location was excellent with food shops very close and only 5 minute walk from the city center. Great view from the front of the apartment.

Comfortable and clean apartment. Great communication from the host. View to the front was surprisingly good.

Kitchen equipment a little sparse of trying to cook your own meals (another pan a colander and a larger sharp knife would be good).

Excellent apartment! Good location, Bonus and Netto supermaket at 2 min walk, free parking in front of the buliding. Very clean and warm apartment, modern with all the necesary things, well equippped kitchen. I have received, from the host, clear instruction before arriving. The apartment looks exactly like pictures or even better. 🤩 Hope to come back next year.

Very clean and spacious apartment on the upper floors with great views across the bay to the mountains beyond. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights from the balcony. It is well equipped with a very comfortable sofa bed in addition to a nice double bed in the bedroom. There are two decent supermarkets a couple of minutes walk away. There is no set parking place but we never had any difficulty getting a free parking scace very close by. It is a pleasant 15 minute stroll into central Reykyavik and though we didn't use it, close to a main bus route.

The bathroom had a rather quirky light and extractor system that turned the light off for a few seconds before coming back on. The blinds in the bedroom and the main room do not completely block out the light so we woke a little earlier than ideal.

Excellent property! Very clean and tidy. Rooms were cosy and very comfortable! Fresh towels, great heating, good location! We loved the fact that Sigrour had taken great care of everything and was kind enough to allow early check in! Thank you !

We had an unpleasant experience during our stay due to the owner's poor attitude. We arrived around 7 PM, right after sunset, and found that the apartment key was not in the lockbox. I tried contacting the owner by phone, but received no response. After waiting outside for a while, I pressed the doorbell, and a male voice answered. I explained that we were the guests for the night and mentioned the missing key. He asked us to wait outside while he came to meet us in five minutes. The owner arrived about ten minutes later and informed us that he hadn’t placed the key in the lockbox on purpose because I hadn’t replied to his email about verifying our stay for one person. I explained that we had been busy and hadn’t checked our email since we received the detailed address, entrance code, and lockbox code the day before our arrival. He insisted that we had only paid for one person and then left. When I called him again, he requested an additional $70 in cash for us to stay. I had booked the apartment for two people for one night, but it somehow showed as one person at a two-person rate (I confirmed this with screenshots from booking.com after returning home). I don't understand why the owner didn't reach out for verification before the free cancellation date or a few days prior to our arrival, which could have resolved the issue earlier. The owner's attitude and treatment of us were the only negative aspects of our trip to Iceland. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this listing to future guests and advise others to be cautious.
