York Minster Icona 239 - FREE parking and gym!

Owner was very responsive to my whatsApp messages, and able to address minor issues including empty shampoo/bodywash bottles, lightbulbs out. Some basic staples were provided for free. Very quiet property - no noise at night. Bedrooms and bathrooms were nicely sized. I liked seeing the top of the Minster above other buildings from my bedroom window. Bonus: on the morning of our departure, that sight included 2 air balloons coming into view! The location was great - one third of a mile walk to Monk Bar. It was also very close to a Spar, where we could buy any groceries/wine we needed (it was not 24-hour, but a Co-op was also within walking distance).

I could not get the shutter entrance door to the inside parking garage to work; my US-based phone kept refusing to dial the phone number that would open the door, and whatsApp would not recognize the number as a whatsApp user. The owner was extremely helpful, and willing to remotely open the door if/when I needed, but in the end we couldn't get it to work the way it was designed. However, the good news was that there were also outside parking spaces, which I used. With keys in hand we were able to get in and out of the building, but had to navigate a few steps instead of getting direct access to the lift. On the interior comfort side, the sofa in the living room was in good condition but was very uncomfortable to sit on!

Great location 10 mins walk into York city centre. Quiet location. Super clean, good facilities, comfy bed.

Bed linen had a funny smell and was too big for the quilt, bed was thrown together had to remake it. Missing welcome pack, but everything else ok. Would advise ladies to take a bar of soap to wash, industrial container of wash liquid which was not ideal for washing intimate areas.

Comfy beds, lovely and clean, great shower.. Seating in lounge was uncomfortable and a tight fit for 3 adults. Overall, would definitely use again.

The apartment itself was lovely, spacious and clean

The shutters to access the key didn't work. We managed to get in when we arrived. We then went out around the city so didn't check in until late in the night. We tried to get in for the key but the shutter didn't work and we couldn't get hold of any staff. Luckily we managed to get in due to someone leaving but we would have been stranded if he hadn't have left to let us in. No explanation or apology. Not a safe situation for a group of women to be in. Really disappointing and simply not good enough

Sofas not big enough for 4 guests to sit and relax, searched but unable to find the hairdryer, no mirrors near a plug.
