I like the neighbourhood; the room was spacious, clean, and cozy for my family of five. The house is well connected to the city centre by public transport. I don't like the lack of some appliances such as a TV, hair dryer, and iron, but it was not so relevant since we were out all the time.

This is a budget option, and I am rating it as a budget option. As the hosts reminded us in their message asking for a 10/10 rating, they're not going to compete with "luxury" properties. That said, we've stayed in a lot of "budget" places, and this is one of the least pleasant. The rooms were clean enough but one in particular smelled bad (think nappies plus a lot of chemical air freshener). The property has two showers between 6 rooms : based on capacity, that makes around one shower per 12 people. The kitchen was woefully underequipped. The video camera on top of the fridge watching the kitchen table, alongside all of the aggressive signs about fines for leaving dirty dishes, was just the cherry on the cake.

Location was good, was clean

The most horrible thing was bunk bed, which was broken and very very noisy, couldn't slept all night, and there was no parking or they didn't offer a parking. So very uncomfortable night

There was no reception or staff to speak with, to get access to the accommodation was very difficult as I was asked to call the secretary on the phone before I could get key access to the accommodation. It was raining during my arrival, my family and I were inside the rain and beating by the rain 🌧️ considering that that I have a baby with me. I had to look for a local that was passing by to help me call the phone number on my booking paper as I only had the my country number with me which doesn't allow me to make phone calls within Spain.. Basically the reception doesn't stay in the accommodation and one of the guest that was staying in the accommodation spoke with me from the window that I should call the phone number on the reservation paper with me in other to speak with the secretary who resides outside the accommodation, the local that was passing by was able to lend me his phone which I later called the number on my reservation receipt, unfortunately the lady doesn't speak another language except Spanish and luckily the local I used his phone helped me to speak with her and that was how I got the access code for the padlock to get the key to my accommodation. They should have sent me the access code to my email 24hours before my arrival and not waiting until I arrived to the apartment, the fact that they knew that they don't have receptionist service available. Imagine if the local was not passing by during that time of the night, that means my family was gonna sleep on the street and outside in the rain after a longer trip from Portugal? Also, no bathing soap or shampoo was provided, I was also told not to use a specific refrigerator as they claimed that I will be charged 50bucks if I use it, I will never go back to that accommodation 😭.

The room was clean and the host was friendly.

The camera that was supposedly watching us in the kitchen made us feel very uncomfortable. And it would have been nice to get detailed information on the bus connections to the center of Madrid as they pass differently before 11am, we lost several hours trying to figure out how to get to the center. We asked the host and she didn't know.
