Blanco Hideout Railay - Youth Hostel 18 to 35 Only

Everybody were super nice!

We were in quite a hurry to check out but there wasn’t any personal stationed at the check out desk during the designated hours.

The views are amazing, it’s nice to have a little get away at the top of a mountain with a nice pool and jungle surrounding, the location meant it doesn’t have any tourists walking through or by which is nice. Was safe with key cards. Social hostel but not with drunk 18 year olds looking for a party which was a nice vibe. Stairs are intense but fine, no different to anything else you’d expect at a hotel or resort.

we knew it was a social hostel, but everyone in my dorm found it odd how the staff would knock once and freely walk into your dorm to ask what you were doing and say your plans were boring if it wasn’t what they were hosting. Bearing in mind we were all 25+ in this dorm, felt like a school trip or being told off for not wanting to drink at an extortionate price. The rooms are extremely basic but it’s a hostel so it’s what you expect. We struggled with the AC being off throughout the day, after you’ve hiked and want to come back to cool down and shower you really can’t. There isn’t any fans or anything outside either for you to cool down outside under the shade. The food was reasonably priced and okay, although all the cheapest things are conveniently not available. It’s a shame they didn’t have any free water available for drinking either. As someone who values safety, watching members of the staff get obliterated at social events makes you question what would happen if there was an emergency, perhaps dedicating someone to stay sober or ensuring the staff aren’t there to just drink every night might help.

El hostel esta súper bien ubicado y tiene una vista preciosa con una piscina. La.gente es muy amable.y te ayudan con todo. Lo.que suele molestar por la.noche si estás en la parte debajo, es la música alta. El resto todo perfecto.

Location at Railay was awesome. Affordable given how expensive Railay is. The stairs aren’t bad, but are worth it for the views. Hostel has great social events. We enjoyed the boat tour and did a pub crawl. Pool was great to have. Gym costs extra, but was nice to have.

Party hostel. Be ready for drunk Brits waking you up at all hours of the night. Bathroom and floors in the dorm rooms got dirty very quickly. No curtains on beds. Stayed in the dorm room behind reception and can easily be mistaken for staff living quarters; people would violently bang on the door at night to try to get ahold of staff (key card issue, medical emergency, drunken issues, etc.). Staff needs to make it known it’s a dorm room not a staff room and where to go for issues. AC shuts off during certain hours in dorms and there isn’t a place to chill that’s not outside. We felt the execution on the social events was a bit lackluster, although we still enjoyed them. Our party boat tour was an hour late and the guides didn’t have good control over the group in regard to timing. I know it’s ran by volunteers, but with a little more coordination it could easily be significantly better! Given the cost of the gym, it has a lot of broken or run down equipment (treadmills, stationary bike, multi purpose machine)

A very fun hostel, good if you like to be social as there are events every night.

There aren’t any privacy curtains so it’s hard to get changed if there are people in the bathroom. The stairs are very annoying especially if you end up drinking a lot!
