We were celebrating hub’s 50th, and our anniversary in same trip. Found Gary’s Cabins through Booking, and booked this storybook cabin right away. Gary was communicative about meeting us upon our arrival, and remained flexible at my delay, as I was trying to sneak in phone calls to arrange my husband’s surprise dinner with family. First impressions are everything, and Gary couldn’t have done a better job welcoming us. He gave us a tour and run-down before leaving us, and told us he remains available. He didn’t have the fire going, and told us, he thought it was too warm, which it was. But in typical lake/mountain fashion, the night dipped down, and we preferred to have a crackling fire instead of turning on the heat. Gary has the wood all chopped, wrapped and stacked for use. We fell asleep watching the “caveman tv”, while our long list of plugged in songs to the juke box played. I took Gary’s suggestion of dinner at Local Table and Tap, where the rest of the family traveled over an hour to join us for the surprise birthday dinner. Justine was our server, and she was fantastic. It’s a great spot, food is good, and the people are the best! The second day, I took my pictures of all the little gems Gary has throughout the cabin. You can literally have a scavenger hunt finding it all! From the spying cub, to the saddle, fishing basket, old boat motor, explosives box, lol… I loved it all! As far as amenities, you feel at home… plenty of cookware, fresh towels, linens, cleaning products, in an already immaculate cabin. Found the vacuum, and used it each day to help keep up with the standard set. Great, long cord, btw. Also took shoes off at doors for same reason. On day 2, as we were heading out, I accidentally left my phone on the counter and and walked out the door, which meant I forgot the lock code. Fortunately, I had my Apple Watch on, and was able to text Gary from outside.

The house was so cozy and the view of the lake was beautiful. Gary and Monica greeted us with the fireplace going and a pizza in the oven. Love the jukebox!

What a wonderful place such an amazing place to relax

That I wished I would have booked my stay longer

Owner made us a frozen "welcome pizza". Free jukebox was nice to have. Beds were comfortable. Owner was responsive but made us pay CASH upon arrival.

Bathroom was dirty. There were men's clothes in one of the bedrooms. The bedrooms were very small and one of them you could barely walk around the bed. No windows at all in that bedroom either. Most of the windows did not have screens so we couldn't leave them open without getting bugs. No A/C so was very stuffy and hot. Lots of dust on most surfaces. The majority of the cabinets in the kitchen are full of old paint cans and painting supplies. The firepit was full of water, very hard to start a fire. Giant woodchuck running on the property going under the shed under the wood pile so getting any firewood was treacherous. No cushions on the plastic outdoor furniture, not comfortable. This property is situate in a private community. The road is is extremely thin, impossible to pass another vehicle coming up. No decent restaurants close by, we had to go 30 minutes away. Benji and Jakes is absolutely horrible.

Loved the location and the rustic nature of the cabin. The owner was so accommodating and very helpful when suggesting food ideas.

It was advertised with a water view, a mountain view, and a patio view. It had none of the 3. I will quote Gary on all 3. "If you cut or trim the trees, you have a water view. You are in the mountains. Booking.com wrote all of that in the description. I didnt.
