Design house 150m from Las Vistas Beach

The house was excellent

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Casa di Design with 5 friends. The property was of a very high standard throughout and extremely well equipped with everything you would need for a self catering holiday including BBQ on the patio, towels, toilet rolls, kitchen roll, tea towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, laundry and shower gels were all provided - a very nice touch. There is a very good supermarket within a 3 minute walk for everything else. Lovely modern decor and felt like a well cared for and loved home. The apartment is part of a quiet, gated residential complex where people seemed to be living, rather than it being a typical holiday complex. It is above shops and businesses on Avenida Antonia Dominguez which is quite a busy main road so the largest double bedroom at the front was affected by some traffic noise ( but not too bad with the shutters down) and the back faces onto a quiet courtyard area. There are several bars and restaurants within walking distance which are a lot cheaper than those nearer to the sea front. A 10-15 minute walk to the more touristy Safari Centre, Harry's Bar, Bianco's etc., The complex's swimming pool is a only minute's walk away from the apartment (see later comments).

The pool area was lovely but only saw one person around it (sunbathing on a blow up inflatable ) the whole time we we there and there were no sunbeds available. I sent texts Class BnB to ask where the sunbeds were but due to translation issues was told simply that we could use the pool so the sunbed issue was never resolved and we actually had to pay for sunbeds on the beach ( 10-15 minute walk away) each day instead. I also asked a maintenance guy on the complex who confirmed there weren't any available. Possibly because it wasn't summer season or that people living on the complex probably take their own but this should be made clearer if this is the case. My biggest issue with this booking was a distinct lack of communication from the property - no response to emails, the Spanish telephone number ( +34 822 68 02 13) didn't work and a second number I was given by Customer Service at Booking.com for the Italian Management Company - Classbnb didn't work either and I was extremely stressed by this. Eventually, after escalating things with Booking.com , I received a Whatsapp from Classbnb a week before I was due to travel and after that the communication was better ( but still stressful - see below) and I blame Booking.com for not having correct numbers on the booking in the first place. Hopefully they now have but if not, to help other people in a similar situation, the best way to contact Classbnb was via their Whatsapp number +39 342 138 0917 or their customer service phone number +39 0287369271. I was advised that I would receive instructions on the day of travel ( too late in my opinion but they said they couldn't say who would be there to meet us as they had a number of people working on the day) which I did but only when I was actually on the flight out!

It is really difficult to find a drawback to this apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped with all possible utensils and appliances, all functioning properly. The rooms are spread over 3 levels. The living room, kitchen, small bathroom and 2 terraces are on the ground floor, while 2 bedrooms and a bathroom are on the first floor. The third floor (with a partly sloped ceiling) is a kind of open space with three beds, a children's corner and a PlayStation. There are two terraces, one of which is pretty big and always in the shade, as it is roofed over. The host Emanuel was kind and patient. It was not difficult to find a street parking spot in the area (in January).

The bigger bedroom may be a little noisy for light sleepers as it overlooks the street, but far from unbearable.

AC in one of the rooms did not work. When we told the host they said "So what" and said it works in other rooms so it should be fine. On pushing, they said that they would get it repaired the next day but didn't care to follow up. We had to sleep in the living room given one room was not functional. Additionally, there were no towels when we checked in - had to request and then we got it.
