GBGreat location, beds comfortable, a couple of minutes walk into the centre of Whitby! Overall a brilliant house for group travellers staying together close to the city.
Check-in is only allowed at 4pm, despite our earlier request. We also had an early check-out at 10am, which felt rushed. Reflecting on it, the property didn’t seem to have been thoroughly cleaned in the six hours between our arrival and departure. Old balloons were still under the sofa and dirty under the wardrobes. Overall, it didn’t suggest a detailed clean-up between stays, which we would have expected given the substantial clean-up period they had. The check-in and check-out times meant we lost the day we arrived and the day we left. We had to wait around and then get up early. The sofas in the living room weren’t very comfortable and quite cramped. The kitchen table took up a lot of space and the stools uncomfortable. The shelf which housed the kettle and microwave was slanted and looked unsafe. Each bathroom only had one toilet roll, which is not enough. The fridge seemed to freeze food and collect a lot of water inside. It says the property is dog-friendly but doesn’t allow dogs upstairs or on furniture. However, there aren’t any doors downstairs to keep dogs downstairs. I would suggest adding a clause to the booking about pet damage, with money taken from a bond rather than strict rules against pets staying in the property. The TVs were also quite small throughout the property and the cables were untidy in all the rooms.

Could do with a little refresh, and a good deep clean smelt fusty when we 1st arrived and kitchen floor was sticky.
GBReally cosy house, had everything we needed and short walk to town. Very comfortable and homely. Everything went really well.
Parking was a little troublesome, not a great deal of space but we managed ok. Downstairs bathroom was a bit cold first thing but upstairs bathroom fine.
