"Superb"

The house is comfortably furnished and equipped. Location is excellent. There is a bus stop into town nearby, but you can walk just as easily. Supermarket is within walking distance. Overall an excellent choice for our stay.

Potential users should be aware the bathroom is downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs. Not a problem if you are fit, but something to be aware of.

Location good. House is spacious and has everything we needed.

Needs some upgrading and cosmetic work.

"Disappointed"

Nothing. We wanted to leave on arrival.

So very overdue renovation, repairs needed throughout and very outdated. Certain areas of the house felt unsafe especially the stairs.

"Mixed feelings"

4.0

That the hosts allowed us to enter early as we had a graduation to attend, but we had our dog with us. We were very grateful for this. Also we had an issue with the boiler not working the owner came out promptly to repair it. There was a lovely park across the road. It was minutes from the city and on a bus route, shops very close to the house. The house itself was clean I was glad for the laundry facilities, unfortunately no iron or ironing board though..... Which are basic items I thought. There is a lot of information for things to do whilst visiting York.

Unfortunately before you enter the house the front entrance sets the tone. Paint flaking from the door frame, walls in the hall with wall paper missing. The stair banister is wobbly and wood worm riddled which is a shame. The cooker trips the fuse box which worried me faulty wiring makes me nervous. The microwave unfortunately couldn't be used due to extensive rust INSIDE the microwave. I understand the house is victorian but the decor issues are a quick fix, I couldn't understand the holes in the doors until we thought about shared accommodation. lampshades would also make a big difference. Could do with a bread knife little things that would make the difference. Iron ironing board. Lots of the issues we found apparently have been reported several times. As I have said before. We were VERY grateful for early access to the property and it's in a lovely friendly area, it's just a shame there are so many ongoing issues with the house and it seems from a visitors point of view that's the the property is uncared for lampshades and such would make a big difference to make it feel homely.

"Very convenient location and comfortable enough"

8.0

Couldn't find the key box at first, though found it by the time host answered the phone. Good thing I called them though as the code had changed from original booking. Beds were comfortable and property was clean. Used our Netflix and Disney+ log ins on the tv so kids were kept occupied. Was about a 20 minute walk to the town centre and plenty of local shops around. Co-op almost next door. Free parking on road down from co-op.

Toilet seat was loose and didn't fit the toilet. Place needs some updating, but that wasn't important to us.

"Pleasant stay in comfortable house."

7.0

House was roomy and in a convenient location for the town centre. It took us around 20 minutes to walk into the centre.

Much of the furniture seemed quite old and the garden could be better.
