"Perfect weekend getaway in the heart of Kendal"

10.0

I needed a cosy cottage very close to Kendal Parish Church so that I could play in and rehearse for a concert there, but also have a base for my girls to stay for the weekend. A great central location so we could smoothly check in on Friday afternoon and chill out before taking a short walk into town for tea. I loved the themed decor. The girls loved their attic suite and had great sleeps both nights. Sophie was prepared to be very accomodating when I stupidly lost the keys (and drive 50 miles to let me back in!) Fortunately I managed to retrace my steps and find the keys which had fallen out of my pocket so all was well. The cottage was very clean and welcoming with tea and coffee facilities (and chocolates and something bubbly in the fridge!) The girls used the TV to do some Joe Wicks warmups from Youtube before we headed down to Morecambe to do the park run on Saturday morning. By the time I returned, there was a spare set of keys in the keybox in case I was stupid enough to lose the keys again! I loved hearing the bells ringing from the nearby parish church on Sunday morning which reminded me of my youth as a chorister in the choir there and was able to view the tower from my bedroom window on the first floor. The girls have asked if they can stay again and I hope we'll be able to arrange it!

I suppose the lack of a personal parking space could have been a difficulty if we had been staying at a different time, but as it worked out, we were able to park for free either directly outside the cottage most of the time when we needed to (1 hr - Mon-Sat 8am-10pm) or about 200 metres away on Buttery Well Lane (2hr - Mon - Sat 8am-6pm)

"Hole in One!"

10.0

Old world cottage charm enhanced by a full modernisation and refurbishment. Very handy location in central Kendal. Plenty of Pay & Display parking options within a few minutes walk. Thoughtful welcome items were much appreciated.

Nothing, it was exactly what we wanted.
