"A lovely little house in a great place, but let down by poor cleanliness."

6.0

The location was great. It was really close to the centre of Kendal. There's a park over the road that the kids loved playing on. The house itself is small, but has a lot of character. The kitchen and bathroom were good too.

We were really disappointed that the house wasn't clean, especially as i had booked it for my dad as a 70th birthday present. It's a dog friendly house, but I didn't expect the sofa to be covered in dog hairs and there to be dog hairs under the covers in the bed. We had to hoover the sofa and change the bedding ourselves. I don't think that the top floor bedding had been changed since it was previously stayed in as there were long hairs and crumbs in the bed. I rang the owners, who were apologetic and refunded us some money. They offered to have the cleaner come back the next day, but I wanted it clean there and then, so did it myself.

"Lovely place to stay. Only stayed 3 nights so was good for our needs."

8.0

Quaint, comfortable Very close to town center

Ceiling height to roof bedroom. Must have missed height issue on website. Being 6’3” was an issue. Could have stayed on 1st floor but found mattress not to my liking

Fab location, loved the river walk and market place. Spotlessly clean. We visited bowness Bay which was only 20 mins drive away.

"Perfect two night get away with my little fam . Quirky , traditional cottage that was super cosy and had lots of offer ."

10.0

Location for us as a family is key . Right in the heart of Kendal so walking distance to some fab pubs the host recommended and a 1 minute walk away from a fab little park that my two girls (6 and 2) loved - even I enjoyed the zip line . Train links to Windermere ( around 15 walk to Kendal station and a very pretty walk ) The cottage itself - gorgeous original features , two good sized bedrooms and all the utensils you need if you fancy cooking . Loved it

Nothing not to like !

"Excellent host and property."

9.0

Decent location with plenty of restaurants, shops and bars. House was clean and well furnished. Owners very responsive to questions.

No on street parking for the property, but there is a loading bay available to unpack your car (can be used for an hour) There is a pay and display offering three days parking for very reasonable price. This car park is just across the road, no more than 2 min walk away. Wasn't a problem, but something guests with older relatives, young children or people with mobility problems should be aware of.
