City Centre Dockside Apartment - 2 Bed, 2 Bath

Emplacement parfait, sur le port, à quelques centaines de mètres du centre de Galway. Salon agréable, cuisine bien équipée. Les lits étaient confortables et de (très) grande taille.

Une odeur désagréable dans la salle de bain attenante à la chambre avec un problème d'évacuation de l'eau. Quelques difficultés à trouver la localisation de l'appartement (pas d'adresse précise donnée) et la boite à clé (la boite à clé du dessus n'a plus de sticker orange !)

The location was excellent. The flat was well equipped.

Access was atrocious. We had to find a lockbox among hundreds on the street. Information to locate it had not been updated so we could not find it. All the information about access and finding the garage was inadequate. Communication was poor, guy on the end of the phone rude. Never again.

Good location and view

There was a bad smell in kitchen/living room. Probably from old damp patch.

Location, free parking. Directions to access the apartment and parking were detailed and easy to understand, except there was supposed to be an orange dot on one of the lock boxes and there wasn't.

Apartment had a musty odor. Washer worked, dryer did not. There were water stains in the kitchen ceiling above the sink and in the cabinets. For what we paid I expected better. Scrap yard across the way very noisy.

The location was great - enjoyed the view of the marina and harbour. Being so close to the pedestrian streets and nightlife was fun.

Overall our experience was good, but we felt there could have been a couple of more kitchen amenities as we like to use the kitchen sometimes while staying in an apartment (dish towel, paper towels) Manuals for the washer/dryer would help as well. Bedside lamps would also be nice. The directions for the location of the apartment need tweaking. The address says Dock Road but it is actually Dock ‘Street’ which makes a difference. It would certainly help with finding the lockbox and garage. I hope that this can be corrected so that others have an easier time reaching their destination. With the help of a local fellow we found it.

The location is incredible, walking distance from Main attractions in Galway. Beautiful view ,and apartment would be perfect if they did maintenance on plumbing/ smell and a deep clean is needed.

There is an awful smell throughout the property, the bathrooms especially. There’s mould all over the kitchen presses and the pillows on the bed are very dirty. A used dirty dish cloth left in the sink.

Good location . Short walk to town. Good wifi . Comfortable overall including the bed so we slept well .

Key pick up was difficult - wrong number given to us and only 2 boxes when we were told to look for 3 . Only got in because the cleaner turned up just after 3pm which was our agreed check in time . She gave us the keys and we went up to the apartment and she said she would come up to finish the cleaning which hadn't actually been started so we had to go away for well over an hour and carrying on paying for car parking. We saw the cleaners car when we went to look at where we would park and we saw the same car parked in our space when we returned another day from going out so we paid for parking that day as well . There was a horrible drain smell in the smaller bathroom which seemed to build up over the day and overnight. There was a lot of mold on the grouting and trim and ceiling in the bathrooms so fans didn't seem adequate . The drier didn't work and after looking at other comments probably hasn't worked in months which may have contributed to the damp as there is no alternative apart from drying clothes indoors. As there was an instruction from block management not to open windows as cleaning was due the washing took even longer to dry out .We had to get code from the host to leave the key as we still have the right code to unlock the box when we left. The TV is smart but not connected to an aerial so only option is streaming . It looks as if water has leaked in from the flat above into the kitchen which may also contribute to dampness . No pillowcases for spare pillows so went to Pennys and bought some for our use . Considering the cost of the apartment all things mentioned should be attended to as a matter of course
