Spacious 2 Bed, 2 Bath apartment -The Shore, Leith

Close to trams and buses to get around. Eateries are just a short walk. Easy and secure parking available. Access was easy in and out. Quite comfortable.

Plumbing was in need of attention, drainage in the main shower builds up. Mould in the bathrooms. The main bathroom sink plug was stuck down and would not drain.

Good location, very spacoius, neat and clean. Unfortunately no toiletries. Over all very good stay.

The secure parking was a bonus, the flat was spacious.

Have just spent 2 nights here and we were so disappointed. There is a huge black mould stain in the main bedroom - in the guest book the owner has written that this is being dealt with but there’s absolutely no evidence of this. There was a mouldy shower curtain and black mould all around the windows. Everything needs a deep clean and a good wash, under the sofa was filthy. The kitchen hadn’t been cleaned properly and they’d left a dirty sponge for us to use. The white drying rack for the dishes was brown in the bottom. The only thing that seemed to be clean was the bedding and towels though the size of the towels was a joke. The entrance is filthy and the communal areas stink. I have no idea how so many people have said this property was clean because it certainly wasn’t for us. Not worth the money at all and we were glad to leave! I would not recommend this property!

Black mould in bedroom, boiler for central heating was in the main bedroom and was noisy in the night and difficult to turn off, but these were minor problems and over all with very small tweaks, this is an excellent property .

A well equipped apartment and we found the bed very comfortable. The heating, once activated by Shuaib, was good especially as we stayed in January. Great position within easy walking distance of the shore and Ocean Terminal area. Excellent route by bus into Edinburgh from just outside the apartment. The host was excellent too as was car parking.

Shuaib might wish to consider providing greater details for access If arriving by car. King St is a dead end and narrow but a 3 point turn is possible. More detailed instructions are needed as to precisely where the key box is ( it’s by door 17 on King St) and how to access the garage. A map of these locations sent with info the day before would really help. You then need to drive out of King St, turn left onto main road staying in left lane and drive immediately left, by Tesco Xpress, into Cables Wynd where you will see several automatic garage access doors on your left. Press key fob and one shutter will open! Once inside there is a numeric code sent that opens one of the doors allowing entry into the lobby where you get the lift or stairs. There's no indication which door to use- there are several- so it’s hit and miss but you finally get it right. If you're on foot and don't need the garage there's a door on King St allowing you into the lobby, lift etc and up to the apartment. Duvet: might offer higher tog rating for winter time. Towel heater: broken in the en-suite so no heating there. The one in the other bathroom is working though. These are not criticisms or dislikes as such but small improvements to add to a more positive guest experience. More info on bus routes and destinations, possible decent restaurants etc would be helpful in a guest handbook

The unit was close to everything. Host was so accommodating and the unit was so comfortable..will definitely book again next time we come to Edinburgh.
