Cozy 1 Bed Retreat - Amlwch

I love the beautiful design of this cosy retreat. The use of space is clever and creative. The welcome pack and consumables were really helpful and extremely generous. The area is stunning with beautiful beaches. Our dog felt very welcome too! This is perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday with beautiful scenery. This accommodation is priced really well.

The property wasn’t very clean at all. Nothing like the cleanliness of the pictures. The area wasn’t the best also. You’re on a shared drive with neighbours who always seem to have their door open and felt like they were watching. Moths and dirt everywhere. The bedroom doesn’t have proper curtains or blinds so if you want to sleep in past sunrise good luck. We made a complaint and had no response never mind a refund back. Oh and the hamper we got most of it was dirty or out of date. Very very disappointed and waste of money.

Very comfortable bed and I appreciate that effort was taken to coordinate the decor. Good welcome hamper. Hand wash provided at sinks. Easy access to coastal walks.

The toilet in the bathroom area was a novel idea and would have been acceptable but the bathroom itself smelt mouldy and tiling needs some attention. The unpleasant smell from the toilet filtered into the living area and the air freshener provided could not disguise the smell. I had problems using the oven as both controls were not working. The temperature setting was broken so was difficult to get it to required temperature. I would suggest that host get this fixed. The place appeared clean but some more attention to detail is required, splash marks on wall above kitchen eating area.

It was close to the harbour and the hosts were contactable at all times. I hadnt taken a hairdryer and contacted the host to see where it was as it stated that there was one at the property. The host apologised and one was delivered the next day. Can't ask for more than that. Welcome basket was a lovely touch and towels were new and fluffy. They also accommodated our early check in.

The bathroom let the property down, once we had used the shower, the floor remained wet and the toilet is in the shower but was manageable for the 2 nights we stayed. Space is limited so I understand not much can be done.

It was a nice clean little house. Host left hamper with food/snacks/wine for us and a birthday cupcake for me which was a nice touch and very kind of them. Only problem was with the bathroom (too small and over-flooding when showering). Big plus for being dog friendly :)

The hosts were very helpful in providing detailed instructions on how to access the property, they were placed in a secure lock box that was easy to access. The hosts being on hand whilst we were at the stay and accessible was a bonus, we could contact them easily with any questions. Very smooth check in / check out process as well, which made it stress free to arrive and vacate, they are a relaxed host which beats some of the other experiences we’ve had in the past. This was our first time visiting the location, and we will definitely be back again, we brought our small dog along who loved it. The harbour is a short walk, and there are many nice routes to take close by. All in all, this is great value for money and I’d recommend for any other guests considering a stay.
