32 3 - Lisbon City Life Private Apartment, Bairro Alto

Location is exceptional. We walked down and up everywhere, though the trams and the metro station is close by too, for those who rather public transport. The size of the apartment for a young family with a toddler is decent as there is a comfy sofa in the living room to spare. Kitchen is well equipped. The restaurant on the corner across the street served the purpose and came handy after a long day of touristy activities.

It is on third floor without elevator which was slightly problematic only because the steps are too narrow. The curtains need replacing as full of stains. Shower was water logging, though was attended promptly once notified. There was a smell perhaps from this water logging that came on every time we were back to the apartment, leaving the windows open solved the situation.

Very good location. Perfect for few days sightseeing.

Easy check-in

There was big stains on the sofa and the coffee table was totaly trashed. Even though everything else was fine, the sofa was enough to that the place seemed nasty overall

The key got stuck in the door and I had to wait for 1 hour for the hosts to arrive. The door lock is unnecessarily obsolete on 3rd floor. I developed a nervousness of getting locked out at night and oiled the lock myself. Sofas have white stains. No tea, coffee, complementary water, sugar. I don't remember seeing washing powder for washing machine. No tissue. Narrow staircase, very hilly area and the footpaths in Lisbon are not luggage friendly. Nowadays some apartments have no holder for soap , shampoo and we have to bend down to the floor.

The flat is in a good location, very central. It has a small kitchen and bathroom, a bedroom and a living room. The couch in the living room also becomes a comfy double bed. The bed is comfy as well.

Despite having some good sound-proof windows, you can still hear the noise from the many bars downstairs. I recommend bringing earplugs. The kitchen doesn’t have a place to put the cups/plates after you wash them. It also didn’t have sugar, salt, oil or any other basics.

I was attending a festival in the Mercado de Ribeira, and for that, the location was excellent with a short ( hilly) walk back and forth. I got the keyes from the keyboks outside the building and the info from the owner about the procedure etc was good. The apartment was on the 3rd floor and was light and clean. It offers charming view over nearby roof tops and side streets. The kitchen had most things you need, a water boiler, micro oven, toaster, stove, and washing machine for clothes. The bed was nice and firm and there was enough towels for an active long weekend.

The property is located in the middle of the bar district in Bairro Alto, so there is noise at night from people outside the bars. For me this was not a problem as I alway bring ear plugs, but from someone who is a light sleeper and doesn’t have ear plugs, it might be a problem. The windows are new and quite sound proof so if it is not to warm, you can easily mute out most of the sound. The flat does not have air conditioning, but it is a corner flat, so it is easy to get a nice draft through it, but at night you would then need air plugs.

The apartment was more spacious than we expected. The facilities were also nice, everything was clean and there was tea and soap. Also good recommendations for restaurants from the owner. Easy checkin with a code, because we arrived late at night. The location is fantastic.

The bed is a little small for 2 people that aren’t romantic partners. The location is next to some bars, which you don’t hear if you close the windows but then you don’t have fresh air at night. There was a big fan for cooling but it was a bit loud an had no levels or on/off button (it could be turned of by taking out the plug though).
