Our experience at this property was nothing short of a nightmare, especially as we booked it for our wedding. The listing misrepresented the property, showing clean, comfortable photos that bore no resemblance to the reality we encountered. Upon arrival, the home was clearly a former student accommodation, with low standards that felt far from suitable for a Booking.com listing. If you’ve never experienced the subpar conditions of UK student housing, this place might be a shock. The floors were uneven and tilted dangerously, which led to my husband injuring his foot. The sofa was broken, one chair was unusable, exposed wiring was visible throughout, and the entire place reeked of cigarette smoke and dampness. There were spiderwebs and dust everywhere, a rusty microwave in the kitchen, and hidden bed linens stashed beneath the sofa. The garden was completely overgrown, resembling more of a junkyard than a usable space. Additionally, the Wi-Fi was not functional, and no alternative was provided. Despite the owner attempting to fix it upon arrival, we were left without a working connection for our entire stay, which added further inconvenience. Despite contacting Booking.com multiple times, we were left with minimal support. The owner reached out to us at 6:42 AM on our wedding day, suggesting we vacate by 10 AM for a partial refund—an impractical and inadequate solution. I would be truly ashamed to market a property like this and charge people to stay there. Standards have to be higher for paying customers seeking accommodation in 2024. In summary, if you’re looking for a comfortable, welcoming space, avoid this property. It’s a poor choice for anyone expecting a pleasant stay and an even worse option for a special occasion.

Excellent location and great size for a group of friends. The host responded quickly to any messages.

Parking was an issue. Only one free on street permit available but no parking spaces on the street so all guests parked in the car park opposite which was very expensive

Really excellent location. Ideally placed for distance to railway station and all the very many attractions Winchester has to offer. We were in the area for a family wedding, and the house proved to be a great base for us to meet up and stay. The house is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Suited our family (3 generations) really well.

Like most properties the house has a few signs of wear and tear, but nothing that impacted our stay.

We loved the location the most. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the closest supermarket (iceland), and that's already within the city center where you'll find all the shops and tourist attractions. We appreciated how responsive the host was and how helpful they were with our inquiries. There were lots of room and storage for our personal belongings so we were not living out of our suitcases. The kitchen is complete with everything you need from breakfast to dinner. The garden is wide and we were able to dry our clothes easily. It's right outside a bus stop and a 12 minute walk to Winchester train station. Very convenient for us as we didn't really ever take the bus to go anywhere in town.

Very central. Excellent location. Kitchen was VERY clean and bedrooms very comfortable.

Unfortunately the garden was disappointing. We didn’t use it as covered in weeds and the furniture was filthy. There were cigarettes butts by the back door. When we arrived at the property. It smelt of cigarette smoke.
