The Lodge - 2 acres of garden with hot tub and fire pit and BBQ

Lovely quite area. Hot tub was a lovely experience and catered very well for bread, cereal, milk, tea and sugar

First impressions was wow! Until i lifted back the quilt. The bed sheets were absolutely discussting, I slept in an absolute pit of filth. Went to bed angry wearing my jeans, t shirt and socks, putting another used t shirt over the pillow case. Didn't get to sleep till 2am, very angry.

A very warm welcome from a great host. A gorgeous little lodge in the garden of the main house. Still very private and masses of space, stunning views from the hot tub and sun loungers. We were very lucky with the weather to be able to enjoy the outside. A huge comfortable bed and a massive tv. Lots of peace and quiet. Just what we needed.

Nothing really

Village location very nice with 2 pubs, butchers, fish and chip shop and coop, all just a few minutes walk. The view from the lodge was nice especially when deer grazed in the garden. Bed was very comfortable. Lounge/diner of reasonable size.

We were very disappointed! The kitchen and bathroom had not been cleaned properly, we had to do this ourselves and wash up all the crockery and utensils. Needed more cooking utensils and can opener! Only 1 saucepan, which was burnt and a frying pan. The whole lodge needs a good DEEP clean and the kitchen needs an upgrade. It did not have a fully fitted kitchen as described, it consisted of a leaky, dirty fridge, an old airfryer, portable single ring hob, toaster and kettle. Kettle didn't work properly. There was an extension lead across the kitchen counter to accommodate all the plugs, which didn't seem safe as it was near the sink and drainer. Drainer was dirty and rusty. The bedding, duvet and towels, although clean, were all old and grey and need replacing. The hot tub was a small lazy spa which we didn't use. Continental Breakfast consisted of a loaf of tesco bread, a few chunks of butter, 4 tupperwares with cereal (didn't use as didn't know how long they had been there) tea and coffee. Garden was shared with owners dog, which was very friendly but it would have been nice to have had a small fence around the lodge so our dog could feel relaxed. Such a shame as this lodge could be beautiful if more attention was paid to it.

The location of the lodge is perfect,it is in a lovely little village with a couple of pubs and a lovely bakery,which we can highly recommend.The lodge was very clean and smelt lovely,also the hot tub was ready to use. The breakfast provided was a nice touch ,especially the shortbread . David is a great host ,providing us with all information to get around locally.

Very cosy and great value for money! Large plot for the dog to run around in and very spacious We will be back again in the summer to enjoy the hot tub fire pit and amazing views
