Aloe Cottage - 2 bedroom

The host was there to welcome me on arrival with flowers. The space has received an upgrade that was well done. I loved the lovely dog that came to say hello.

There is a dampness issue in the building, when it started to rain there was an unpleasant smell coming from the drains in the bathroom. More attention to detail is required, the lighters have run out of gas and the pinecones were still a bit damp so it took a while to catch, it would be great if there were a backup to start the fire.

The difficulty trying to find the key box ..when finding it it was extremely difficult to work & also there were NO keys .Fortunately the owners mother arrived so helped who found them in the door! Also: Unfortunately there was a smell ..it smelled like cats urine ..there were cats & dogs on the property .

A charming cosy cottage in a quiet street. Conveniently close to the centre of Stanford.

Bathroom doorway is very low. Anybody over 6 feet tall will bump their head, as I did a few times. Perhaps a sign above the door warning future guests would be a good idea.

Beautifully appointed, special touches, great kitchenette and bathroom, thank goodness for the fireplace!

The website on Booking still shows two bedrooms with double beds . We booked the cottage specifically for this because we were two couples. Surprised to find one room with bunk beds, not ideal for a romantic getaway…

Warm cozy place-slept very well in safe area-fire and internet was very nice-place very well equiped

Can improve with grab handles in toilet for disabled persons

Beautifully and tastefully furnished with quality items, rugs and decor items. We brought our doggie and that was such a treat with a nice garden and gate. Very well-stocked with all sorts of extras from toiletries to lemons provided for drinks to firewood and lighters to yummy rusks and loads of towels and thoughtful things like warm throws for chilly evenings outside. Miranda and staff very pleasant and helpful. TV has great selection of channels. Fireplace worked superbly. Even toilet paper had a chic stamp and edge! Even books and magazines to browse through. Very comfortable indeed.

Lounge floors not stable and one bedroom door does not close and some old brass door handles not secure or wobbly. Could do with electric blankets for winter.
