10 Raptors Lodge

What a great apartment with 2 separate rooms and an open plan kitchen and lounge. There is a built in braai and outside seating area making this a lovely place for 2 colleagues or a family of 4. The main room is inside the apartment, and the second room, just off the patio literally 5 steps from the patio door. The outside showers off both bathrooms was a lovely touch and the complex splash pool a lovely extra. The security is great, access easy at any time and the host, Donna very responsive and friendly.

The DSTV was unfortunately not working (although not a train smash for us). A small matter living in a wildlife estate is that creatures do on occasion think they can co-inhabit. The main room had a pair of mice setting up residence in the thatch rafter and were at first disturbing (till I saw it was mice and not a snake) but then easily ignored. I could suggest that a map be provided by WhatsApp before the time as finding unit 10 once in the estate was not that easy in the dark.

Very nice lodge, close to the city center but in a wildlife surrounding. We have stayed there before and will come again! Very comfortable beds, nice terrace outside. Little kitchen if you want to cook for yourself, but enough good restaurant options in the proximity.

We always enjoy staying at the Raptors Lodge. 10 Raptors is against the fence, so you do see a bit of wildlife. Staff was so helpful and friendly!

Comfortable, lovely setting.

Shower head broken in main bedroom and shower drain blocked. Main bedroom door doesn't lock from inside, had to tie it up, poorly lit from driveway to front door. Latch on courtyard door broken and the it banged all night as the wind was blowing.

The lodge is very central and easy to access. It is well equipt and the layout of the unit worked very well with two couples. The beds are comfortable and there is enough towels supplied.

The outside showers (both) drains are blocked and drain very slow. There is NO hairdryer in the unit.

I enjoyed everything

I loved the spacious living area and double bedroom, fully furnished kitchen and amenities and lovely little touches inspired by the South African wilderness. It is perfect for long stays and larger groups/families. I found I wasn't lacking anything as everything was already catered for. The outside area was also great and parking was plentiful. Modern fitments like TV with DSTV, aircon and WiFi was also welcomed. Outside shower was a great feature that I used daily. Room service was appreciated. Really was everything you could hope for in a home away from home.

Wasn't as cozy as one would like during winter - could do with some warm blankets during the season. Light switches were also a bit confusing as they were placed everywhere without much context or labelling. A smart TV with Netflix and such would also be a welcome upgrade. Otherwise perfect!
