The location was great, easy reach to anything . The facilities were enough for what we were looking for .

The only thing that I didn't like was the steep stairs going up to bathroom and bedrooms. Apart from that excellent .

Great for our needs, an overnight stay, dog friendly and perfect location. The house was clean and tidy, the welcome biscuits were very much appreciated after a long journey!!

Just a minor issue, but important to know with a dog, the garden is not enclosed.

"Lovely cottage close to the centre of town."

8.0

A lovely little cottage, very close to the centre of Penistone. Plenty of room for us, with three adults and two teenagers. The cottage is warm and cosy and tastefully decorated. There is a parking space, and more nearby. Check in was easy. Clean and well equipped.

Be aware the stairs are very steep, so would not suit anyone with mobility issues, there is no downstairs toilet so you have to tackle the stairs each time. It would be helpful to have some coat hooks, we all had outdoor gear. If we had been walking the trails,(we were not this time) changing muddy boots would be difficult in the tiny porch, it would be better to have a large washable door mat near the door to protect the carpet. We would also suggest more generous check in and out times. Check in was 4pm, check out at 10am. This was too early for our family as we had attended a birthday meal in town the previous night, and had no time to have breakfast on Sunday morning after everyone was up and ready. You should be aware that the owners require quite a lot of information before you arrive, numbers and ages of guests etc. In our case there were 5 people, which is why we chose a 3 bed cottage. Our teenagers are as big as us, so really facilities for 5 adults is all you need to know? I don’t see why ages are relevant unless you need a cot. The owners are also nervous about noise because of elderly neighbours. This was not an issue for us, we were only there to attend a family meal nearby, not have a party.
