Red Lion Inn & Motel

The hosts Will and Holly and their staff made us very wecome. Food was excellant. The location was perfect around 20 minute walk to train station for Harrogate and York. Room was good with an excellant comfortable bed also beer garden available. Will go back again as it was so good.

Breakfast was very good served by lovely staff.. The location of the Red Lion is very good for accessing York via the Park and Ride which is close by.

We had room 15 which is the last room in down a fairly narrow walkway to all rooms. Our booking paperwork said the room was accessible by wheelchair which is unlikely as there is a around 6 inch high step from the walkway into the room. Although my wife is not wheelchair bound she does have mobility issues which I had passed onto the hotel when booking, so finding we had the most difficult room to reach was disappointing. All rooms will suffer a great deal of road noise from the very close A59 but room 15 is the closest, at times it felt that lorries were coming through the room door. In summery, nice place with great staff in a good location for reaching York etc but not for us due to my wife's poor mobility and as we live in a quiet village we couldn't deal with the traffic noise.

Everything ran smoothly and it was our second stay here and really enjoyed

Staff were friendly and attentive, food was very decent for the money. The beer was very good.

Room was a bit tired, bathroom vinyl was coming away in places and the furniture was a bit worn but the bed was very comfortable👍

Staff so friendly. Food excellent. Room ideal and comfortable. Very nice pub environment. Easily found as on main road

The flys and moths in bedroom and bathroom thin walls as you can hear noise from next door also road traffic noise with it being on a main road although good choice for breakfast the food was poor quality

The food in the morning and evening meal were excellent. Very tasty and well presented.

The approach to our rooms left a lot to be desired. More attention to the garden and pathway to rooms from the main building would have improved the ambience of the place. Very good for the park and ride into York

Good location to visit York Got a taxi in which cost £15 each way Good off street car parking Good Breakfast

Room was clean but could of been cleaner Lots of dust around where carpet met skirting board Dusty lamp shades Could not get tv on as batteries in remote was flat Road noisy
