Comfortable beds, friendly staff, lots of parking available

The dining room needed a good clean, there was dead insects on the windowsills, no serviettes available and had to go to the bar and queue for drinks when serving self at breakfast buffet.

Location was ideal, not far from the park and ride and away from the city centre Staff were extremely polite and there to answer any questions we had. Catered to our request for a quieter room before arrival. Breakfast including evening meals were extremely enjoyable.

Close to a major road but didn’t detract from our stay. Mattress was soft but I suppose this is down to personal preference we prefer a firmer mattress, I’m sure if we had mentioned it, it would have been changed.

Good location and breakfast

Location was handy for Poppleton Railway train every 30 mins £9 off peak return for 2, Hackney Taxi from York Railway Station £14, Uber quoted £24!!. Fabulously friendly staff, lively breakfast. Not a complaint but bathroom could do with an update. Room was ideal, airy overlooking the garden.

All of the staff went that extra mile to help. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the beds were so good. The food was amazing, good sized breakfast with a good choice on the menu. Lots of outdoor space to sit with wonderful views.

Location and staff were outstanding.

Good location, good rooms and excellent staff and food. Very handy, quiet place from which goo access to York by public transport or park and ride.

It’s quite close to the busy A59 trunk road but it didn’t disturb us.
