Price of drinks made it not possible to stay there for more than 1 drink. Very expensive

The room was basic but clean and very comfortable..the staff were all lovely and so welcoming. The food was delicious ! We had a roast carvery on the first night and it was amazing! The breakfast was lovely with good variety. It was a great location not far from York and parking and local transport was easy.

The only thing we were a little disappointed with was that on one evening there was a delivery issue which meant the kitchen was closed and we were unable to eat in the restaurant. We ordered in a takeaway, and the staff provided us with plated and cutlery, etc. so really no problem..the staff were really accommodating.

Clean and tidy ,with Friendly Staff.

The staff were so helpful and friendly. my husband is in a wheelchair, and everything being on one level was perfect for us. The breakfast is excellent, lots to choose from and delicious. We had Sunday lunch from the carvery and ate from the menu; food was exceptional and reasonable prices too. Perfect location, only 10 minutes into the centre of York; we left the car at the hotel and got a taxi to York Minster (around £13 each way depending on traffic). We would definitely stay there again and recommend to everyone.

Shower tray in the bathroom can get a bit slippy, we put a towel in the bottom and that solved the problem.

Cheap and cheerful. Had all necessities. Decor a bit dated but comfy bed, plentiful hot water and great breakfast! Very good value.
