Helvellyn - The Hut - Twin or Double

We booked in for two nights for my partner's birthday, so that we could make an attempt on Helvellyn. Unfortunately the ice was "the best for 5 years" as the man coming off the summit in crampons with ice-axes told us. The Hut was a lovely cosy refuge. We have both lived outdoors in unusual accomodation so it suited us to the ground, albeit with more mod cons than we are used to!

The location was perfection, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The scenery just from The Hut window was insane! The beck nearby was perfect for a morning dip and the sound was heard from The Hut, it was so relaxing. We also didn’t realise The Hut has a small kitchen with appliances such as a stove, kettle, saucepans, mugs, etc. Nicky was super helpful and answered any queries we had, she recommended things to do in the area as well such as E-Biking which we done and really enjoyed!

The property was perfection, we will definitely be coming back.

Access road is awkward but my polo managed fine. Worth it to be in the middle of nowhere though!

If you are looking for the perfect ,out of the way ZEN place then This is coziest little hut ever to stay in !! Scenery is amazing , it just has everything you need inside for a nice hiking getaway! We loved the old school whistle kettle just everything had that back to basic style and we loved it . The hut was lovely and warm throughout the night too .. We were slightly gutted the shower wasn’t on but we managed without .. Not too far from the shops/ pubs in glenridding either .

There wasn't any breakfast - the hut was as we expected and very well set up and cosy.

The view was amazing, so cosy in the hut. Loved it all.

Couldn't fault anything for the price, you get more than what you pay for.

The hut was in a perfect location for heading up to striding edge , and with amazing views from the hut.
