Stylish Darlington Townhouse Near A1 A66 & A19 Breakfast

A complete lack of communication from the owners meant I couldn't get to the property until it was too late! Total waste of money. No refund offered.

Our stay was from 22.01-26.01.the house was dirty, no amenities. Kitchen and bathroom were miserable. The owners asked for a deposit of £100 and we paid it immediately. I would like to mention that my job involves a lot of traveling every week. I always book through booking, and I have never been in this situation before. After we left, I asked if everything was ok with the property and when they would return my deposit. There was no response for several days. On 01.02 the owner wrote to me that the cleaner sent him a photo of an ashtray in one of the bedrooms and claimed that we smoke inside, which is absolutely not true. None of us smoked inside. I asked to send me this photo, but I never received an answer and neither my deposit. Very dumb way to not return a deposit. I don't know how this place has a score 8.4, probably because they offer you 10 % discount for your next stay if you give them a score of 10(we received such an offer). But if you want a terrible experience and not get your deposit back by making up lies, this is your place.

The property was located in a quiet area which was ideal.

Inside the property looks nothing like what the pictures showed. Inside the house is very run down and dirty. There are a lot of outlets that pose electrical safety risks and some that aren’t even working. I forgot an item at the property and had to collect it from one of the hosts, when I met her she assured me that she checked the property when she went for the jacket and that everything was good and I should send my bank details so she can send back the £100 damage deposit. TWO days later of chasing her for the deposit, she accused me of getting a substance on the glass table which she assumes is glue and admitted that she was scraping at it for awhile but she can’t get it out, she said she needed stronger cleaning products so she will deducted £20 before sending the deposit! I’m surprised she didn’t blame me for all the holes in the wall as well!!

- Located in a decent and quiet residential area - Smart TV with TV license and Netflix, Disney subscriptions - A lot of beds and sofa beds - 3 toilets in the property

- The host requested the full payment plus £100 deposit by bank transfer prior to arrival - No house number label on the property, got some difficulty on finding it on arrival - Suppose to have a parking space, however the driveway of the property was blocked by an abandon car, so we had to park on the street - Kitchen was not very clean, can get sticky and oily feeling when touching on the kitchen cabinets doors - Cutleries provided were not clean - Boiler needs a service, so stop working occasionally - Narrow living room and dinning room with large sofas, which makes the space even tighter. - There is a rear garden, but the key to the back door was not provided, which makes it hard to get into the garden - Shower only in the master bedroom, and it is very narrow - No carpet on the stair, so it could be noisy when step onto it. Also found some loosen screws on the joint, which create some injury or trip risk - There are a lot of 9 or 10 ratings, which I really don't believe they are honest - Charged us an extra fee, which we did not agree on the amount. Asked for an explanation, but no reply since then.

Clean, tidy, comfy beds and good facilities. Fabulous hosts with excellent communication, friendly and helpful.

Just some of the decor was a bit tired in places.

Advertised as having a sofa bed but there wasn't one? No breakfast apart from a tiny bit of cearel and 6 eggs, (owner did apologise and let us stay later), wasn't very clean and we found dirty underpants in one of the beds (have pics) and handprint marks on the walls of the bedrooms, there was an old car parked on the drive so had no parking but it's advertised as parking

Very cosy and in a good area. Check in was really easy and the house was easy to find. Lovely little touches like milk in the fridge and cereal and eggs for breakfast
