HAKATA TERRACE -灯 akari-

Hakata Terrace - Akari - is one of 3 residences side-by-side in a largely residential neighborhood about a 15 minute walk from Hakata Station. It's a two-story, two-bedroom residence with the bedrooms upstairs and the living, kitchen and bath downstairs. The beds were pretty comfortable, which is not always the case in Japanese lodgings. Kitchen furnishings were adequate and there were numerous places to hang clothes. The residence is conveniently located with a 7-11 nearby, and a local shopping center with a grocery store, a Daiso, and quite a few restaurants also just a short block away.

Several days before our reservation, I started receiving automated messages about needing to complete an online registration form and to upload passport photos. I did this, and sent a note to which staff responded confirming that I'd completed this. However, the automated messages continued day after day. And then on the day of our arrival, we did not receive any instructions about entering the residence. Only after we called the management company was a door code provided. The layout of the residence was a bit strange. The front door opens out into the narrow street. There's actually a sign on the inside of the door warning that when opening the door and stepping out you need to beware of traffic. We noticed a strong moldy smell from the washroom as soon as we entered the residence. There is a somewhat separate space beyond the living/dining space. What made this space awkward was that it's a small step down from the living/dining area, and we often stumbled when going back and forth between the two areas. The TV is attached to the wall, but is very small for the space. The stairs to the bedrooms are narrow and curving. We left our bags on the first floor rather than risk life and limb trying to lug them up the stairs. The bedrooms were pretty good-sized, and each had its own air conditioning unit, but there's no toilet room upstairs, so nighttime requires a trip down and back up the steep and narrow stairs when visiting the toilet room. One of the most irritating things about the house was the wifi. It varied its signal from nothing to 5 bars and back to nothing again and again. The first night we heard the people staying in the next house seeming moving furniture around a lot. We also heard loud talking from people outside on the street.

Nearby the highway sounds very loud,and can clearly hear people talking in other house or on the street .

清潔で場所が最高ですね、ありがとございます。久しぶりに家族6人全員集まる事ができ、また息子の結婚相手家族とすぐそばの博多百年石蔵で顔合せが無事終わりました。ありがとうございます、また行く機会が有りましたら　利用させて頂きます。

お茶の用意が欲しかったですね。

大人4、小学生2で宿泊させてもらいましたが広々と良いお部屋でした！ 清潔感もありハンモックなど子供が気に入って使ってました。 壁に大画面で映せるYouTubeやNetflixをみて家族全員で楽しむことができました。 大変安く泊まれたのでとても良かったです。
