Castleford Stay, Families & Work Trips at Liquorice Lodge

The property was easy to access, it was decorated well and had what we needed. I was clean and the kitchen is lovely!! I can see it is looked after well!

Even with the heating on the house was very cold and damp. At night we all were very cold. The window in the room I was in was not working adequately and when the window blew the curtains moved. I kept thinking it was open and when checking it I could see it was shut but is not great quality and had gaps where wind was coming in. There was a lot of damp in the toilet which felt worse with the coldness. I didn’t have a great sleep any of the nights unfortunately. Also the oven trays were so small and the only full sized one had rust on it so was unable to use it but we managed but just wanted to note this for you. There was definitely plenty of thought gone into accessories in the kitchen which we appreciated!

We were there for work but it was very well located for Digger Land. The house was very cosy and had everything we needed.

The facilities and cleanliness met our expectations

The street lamp is located right outside the main bedroom window and shone directly into the room at night. Since the curtains were not blackouts, the bright light from the street lamp made sleeping difficult. For a small mid-terrace property, the walls are very thin. We can hear the talking and radio programmes from the neighbours especially when the windows are opened. Since there is no extractor fan in the bathroom, the bathroom window had to be slightly opened to reduce misting and muskiness, and then the outside noise coming into the property was very loud.
