Location. Definitely recommend staying a night in Hana too break up the drive and enjoy the drive in from Kihei or Lahaina

Far too expensive for the facilities provided. Badly in need of an update. This hotel may have been nice 40 years ago

Staying in Hana was fantastic, the hotel was nice, loved the deck.

Room didn’t have soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser in shower. No scissors in kitchen. Stove with cracked burner Wish the listing had mentioned how limited the food shopping is in Hana

Great location. Very accessible to beach and nearby attractions

Beautiful room, great view, very clean. Comfortable bed. The shampoo and conditioner they provided were excellent quality. Unit is right next to a black sand beach that resembles a more famous black sand beach nearby but with less hassle. Woman at check in desk on our arrival was very nice, helpful and suggested some restaurants nearby for a tricky arrival date, just before Christmas. Only night on Maui I didn't hear chickens, but my sample size is tiny. They provide coffee & coffee machine. Full size fridge and real stove top range.

Woman at reception on the day we left, Christmas Eve, told me that they don't have any options for early check out when I asked. I stated that sometimes hotels have this for a fee and that I'm happy to pay. She said Hana Kai was not a hotel and check out was strict. I'm pretty sure this is a hotel, but maybe I'm wrong and the Google page listing is wrong too. I didn't make any problems about check-out time and checked out before 11am as required. She did give extra towels I requested though. Needs black out curtains or it's very bright, very early, in the unit. No options for breakfast.
