Host & Stay - The Surfer's Loft Apartment

Close to the beach.

Communication, poor entres to the facilities ,no promised free Internet connection (router was amber flashing) what was promised (could not work because of that), interior need to update/maintaining. Bedding being used before (duvet cover was clean), toilet sink tabs, free toiletries was 1 roll of toilet paper,small peace of soap,. No basic shower gel. Went to shop to get extras. Clutery are not clean. Boor communication with host. Sending messages every hour, only automated AI answers. Asked compensation, ignored by host.

The property was in a good location, it was bright and the beds were comfortable.

The property was not cleaned to a high standard. The property looked very tired and grubby in some places. It was on the 7th floor and the windows couldn’t open. WiFi was not working during our stay and spent the first 40 mins of our stay hoovering and scrapping congealed curry sauce off the kitchen floor. The level of dust under the beds and sofa was unacceptable. The lack of fire extinguishers in the block was very concerning too. I spent a lot of my time messaging my findings.

Digital lock system was difficult to activate.

Unclean.. dust in the cupboards and second bedroom Previous guests had not washed plates and cutlery so food was visible. Property was dangerous with no fire extinguishers or fire blankets. Being on the 4th floor with windows that don’t open properly …. This was a MAJOR concern!!! I reported the lack of fire extinguishers during the stay……….. THIS WAS NOT ON THEIR PRIORITY… they’d look into it but didn’t during our stay There was obvious signs there might have been fire extinguishers at the property on each floor. Host and stay have a fire record at the ground floor of the property which does highlight their lack of fire safety.. they acknowledge no fire blankets for example The bath was alarming!! Says free standing with period feature legs! Just moved as you were in it as plastic Extractor fan in bathroom not working .. extractor in kitchen not even connected. All in all it would have been a great stay as location was great but everything and the lack of attention to detail let this stay down My partner and I have stayed in many Host and Stay properties which have always been amazing … but this stay has been sub standard and very disappointing

Location is great, straight across from the beach and able to find parking straight outside. Lock key easy to navigate. Apartment is well equipped with modern kitchen, fridge etc.

It was dirty! I asked if we could check in a little earlier and they said no because of cleaning but I really think it hadn’t been cleaned. The bed sheets were crumpled as if someone has been sat on it (or even worse - he’d they not been changed from the previous guest?) and there were used false eye lashes stuck to the bedside table! Bathroom wasn’t clean - ventilation was poor so there was mould on the walls. It was very hot and the Velux windows were all closed - surely you’d have left them open to get some fresh air in if you’d cleaned it?

No iron, chairs were all broken, blinds were broken, the shower went all over the floor, the floor felt unstable and creaked. The bed in the back bedroom moved when anyone walked by the bathroom. The window in the front bedroom is unable to open. The instructions to get in the apartment were poor.

Well appointed apartment in a great location. Warm and cosy.
