Hotel Luz de Mar ' right on the beach

The views overlooking the ocean were stunning. We could watch sunrise and sunset ! And whales swimming by !! The saltwater pool was wonderful - most fun floating on top of the water. Rooms were very large The staff were very friendly and we felt cared for like family. Seriously great thin crust pizza here.

Nothing really comes to mind about the negative. It suited us well.

Is an amazing place very well thought, from the room decor, the views from your room, the restaurant, the salted water pool. I absolutely loved everything! The host made me feel very welcomed. Breakfast was delicious. But, what I loved the most was the beach I got to be all by myself on this beautiful beach and watch the sun rise, the fish and crabs ohh it was beautiful.

Beautiful property, spacious rooms, a very comfortable bed, the owners were great, the place has its little private beach (you can only make your feet wet, but awesome for relaxing) from the room, you could see the whales (when in season) at 6:00h the breakfast every morning was delicious. We enjoy staying here!

We were treated like royalty by Yvonne, Iggy, Sandra, Elli, Flora and Vladimir, and felt like friends, not customers. The view was superb. We were mesmerized with the sight and sound of the ocean surf. Our room was spacious and modern, the king-sized bed very comfortable; there was just the right amount of attractive furniture. Air conditioning if wanted, or well-fitted screen doors and windows with a constant breeze if preferred (no mosquitos anyway). The salt water pool was big enough and always warm, with no hours of closure. The shared balcony was more like a porch, with lots of room and patio furniture. The poolside, bar and restaurant were attractive, with more lovely views. The food was excellent, (the best thin-crust pizzas!) tasty and nicely presented, and they offered us off-menu items with advanced notice, like the best tamales I've ever had. There was unlimited free filtered drinking water. We were so happy we never even went to the swimming beach, just glimpsed it on on a little tour around the village. If you want a quiet, romantic place to stay away from it all, this is it!

There are several stairs down to the pool and restaurant level, and more to the private (not swimmable) beach. My elderly husband found them challenging, though they are broad and even and there are landings. We have suggested that Iggy have a handrail added.
