Our Lodge at Newquay Bay NB35

The site was lovely, we have stayed many times in various caravans. The hosts were ok and sorted out the unsent e-mail from Booking.com to allow us access on the day of check in

The beds have certainly seen better days and should be replaced. The cooker had some rings that didn't work and you were unable to see what knob was for what ring as it had worn away. Some of the curtain poles were not fixed just balanced so when the curtains were drawn at night they would collapse. The front entrance was difficult to lock from the outside, it was trial and error, sometimes it would lock and other times you could be there 10 minutes trying.

Place , quality of facilities, value for money, great owners , close to the town and a few nice beaches, great place to start all your journeys.

Mattresses could be a bit harder for my liking but for a 3 night stay it was not so bad ;)

Peaceful location with ample parking space. Property was good size to accommodate 6 people with all basic Kitchenware available to cook your own food

I think the bed quality can be looked at to improve as they weren't strong ones and we could hear the bed frame struggling and making noises when person sleeping even when moves a bit, plus keeping spare toilet rolls and hand wash liquid is basic that visiting guests would expect.

Location was good and on site facilities where what u would expect for money paid

Bed unfit for purpose in main room was broken when arrived and could not be slept in It had clearly been like that a while and never addressed And broken door meaning kept getting locked in room

The location was amazing, lovely quiet site. Lodge was clean and modern and communication with owners were good. Shops on site were great. Had a really enjoyable break, thank you!

The cleaning. From the moment we stepped in the lodge I realised it wasn’t cleaned after the previous guests. It was very hard to get in touch with the landlords to sort everything up. We started our small holiday by buying cleaning products, disinfecting and cleaning the lodge, washing and deying the laundry (that wasn’t changed) etc. I contacted booking.com as the landlord was hard to get in touch with. What bothered me the most was the fact that we were waiting there in the living room with 2 kids (8 and 3 years) hoping someone would come to clean a little bit. After 3 hours with no reply from the landlord we started the cleaning. At the end I was given a discount (1 night money back and no payment for the dog) for the bad experience. Regarding the dog, the cleaning fee is just a matter of getting more money from the guests. When you clean after the guests, it’s obvious you clean after the dog. It’s not like you clean extra because I brought my dog. When asking for extra money for the dog, you as lander must offer something for the dog: a dog bed, bowls for food and water, treats. Yes, I would be more than happy to pay even double the fee for the dog. So, I don’t consider that not paying the “cleaning fee” for dog is something discounted.
