What we liked: Amazing location with excellent view. Calm and quiet property. Very good rooms. What we didn’t like: 1. Extremely depressing breakfast. Limited spread and that too tasteless food. 2. A mobile device was given at the time of checking in for communication with the front office/f&b/housekeeping, emergency, etc. Alas! None of the contact numbers saved on the instrument worked during the 3 days stay. To order something, every time we had to walk to the front office. Even to get replenishment of water, we had to walk to reception 3. Limited food menu with extremely limited room service. In fact, they were always reluctant to provide room service. Food timing for breakfast, lunch and dinner were a window of 2 hours each which was little too short, specially since the property is located almost an hour away from the mainstream township. If we miss any of these timing, then we would be left with no choice for food. 4. While two of the gentlemen at the front office were pleasant and cooperative, one of the ladies was clueless, expressionless and remotely related to hospitality - she didn’t even have a smile on her face. While I was explaining the difficulties we faced, during the mid of our conversation she just walked away and never showed up again. If you are not a foodie and more interested in staying inside the rooms, without having any kind of activities, then this place is good for long hours of sleeping and relaxing. The only activity was an hour long walk into the coffee plantation. And the only pleasant thing that is worth mentioning is Mr Sampath, the guide. WARNING: If you are looking for a family vacation with aged people and small kids, then Old Kent is certainly NOT the place you should opt for.

The area is lovely although the road is dirt for quite a few kilometers and had it been rainy season, would have been difficult to get to. The room was huge and lovely and gorgeous views. The lodge area is nice too and the staff were friendly. Wifi was also decent but getting a phone signal was hard.

It was a bit disorganized. No one told us (until we found people to ask) what and where breakfast was or anything about dinner or the advertised walks etc. No one told us to order eggs or coffee either. Again just disorganized. The fancier coffee was not available until 4pm which is just too late for us to be having all that caffeine so that meant we only tried the plain filter/powdered coffee at breakfast and staff couldn't answer if that was actually grown there or not. When surrounded by coffee plants it would have been nice to experience drinking it. The tour of the plantation is around very steep hills and it was not possible to navigate for anyone with a walking difficulty. The food in the restaurant was nice but could have been improved on.

I was well received by the staffs, the rooms were so comfortable and the property met all my requirements, I travelled with my kids, so the Chef Mr. Naveen was patient enough to listen to our requirements. we had sumptuous food in the property.

No intercom. Flooring is too old. No clear information about different colour bottles which they kept in bath room.

It was an amazingly calm and beautiful stay with good breakfast. The rooms were quite big, comfortable and clean. The toilet was also huge and clean. Staff and everything about the place was really good.

The only thing that needs to be improved is the road to the coffee estate. It starts well and ends well but in-between it needs improvement.
