The Anvil, 2 bed cottage, in the heart of Cornwall

The property is very well-supplied - much better than I have encountered in many places. This made our stay very comfortable. The hosts are lovely people who have thought hard about what makes a stay pleasant. They also left some welcome gifts on arrival, which were very helpful as the property is not near any shops. The rating of the location depends on what you want to do in Cornwall. You definitely need a car to stay here but if you have a car, most places are easily accessible. Put ‘The Anvil’ into google maps to find the property, not the postcode.

The property is in a great location for exploring Cornwall. Very clean and well equipped. Comfy beds, fluffy towels and spacious. Great shower and bath. There is a lovely private outdoor seating area. Good parking for one car. The hosts were very welcoming - fabulous welcome basket of essentials plus very nice biscuits! You will want to extend your stay! We would definitely return if in the area.

The Anvil is a great place from which to explore Cornwall. From the moment you arrive it feels cosy. Lucy and George provide some lovely provisions to get your stay off to a great start. The living space is great and has a wood burner for those colder nights. The outdoor terrace was a lovely place to relax.

Very clear communication beforehand about finding and accessing the property. The cottage was clean, homely and warm and the welcome gifts were an absolute joy to arrive to after a long journey. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and so was delightful to spend time in, inbetween our adventures in the area.

Because the welcome pack and instructions were in the entrance beneath the coat rack, as we arrived they immediately became covered up and were unseen for some time. During which we'd spent time figuring out the lighting (which we later found to be explained in the pack) and ended up asking for the wifi code. It was probably us being a bit useless .. but I'm not sure we'd be the only ones to do the same thing. It would have been more noticable upstairs in the living area by the guest book.

I came here with my wife and our friend and we fell in love with it! It was clean, comfortable, and had every amenity. We all commented on how it felt like we were at home, and everything we might’ve needed was easy to find. Lucy & George were lovely hosts, they left us to it but we felt we could’ve reached out if we’d needed to

Lucy and George were great hosts, so helpful and friendly. There was a lovely basket of local produce to welcome us. The cottage was well equipped and had some lovely vintage pieces - the old school pegs for hooks in the bathroom and bedrooms were great. There were lots of toys for the children to play with - much appreciated by all!

A wonderful, immaculate and interesting get away cottage. The generous hosts have clearly gone to a great deal of thought and effort to provide a very comfortable space for a break with everything we needed for catering too. 10-15 minutes to get to beaches, Falmouth, Penryn and not much more to get to the North coast.
