The Warden's House - Yala

This is a beautiful , outstanding hotel . Both for location , service and facilities . The staff cannot do enough for you , you really do not have to lift a finger here . The rooms and house are wonderfully presented . Designed as a traditional colonial safari lodge, everything is perfect . The extras provided make everything just that bit more special . The food and drinks are all amazing … and there is plenty of it ! Our safari drives were expertly led by our ranger .. Shaminder who was so friendly , hardworking and very knowledgeable . He phones ahead as you return to ensure your cold towels and favourite tipple is waiting for you as soon as you step down ! Both him and the driver cooked us a delicious breakfast in the jungle !! Then he took us down for a swim in the river behind the hotel .. with a cold beer of course ! All incredible ! Every member of staff was so professional and kind but we just wanted to particularly thank Vinoth .. he really Looked after us at meal times and makes the Best cocktails ! This hotel is very special and it has been an experience we will Never forget . Thank you everyone .

Absolutely nothing .. except having to leave !

We had the best stay at Wardens house. Clare, Danu and the whole team went above and beyond to time at wardens memorable. Every meal was absolutely delicious, the rooms were spacious and the grounds were so relaxing. We had a 1 yr old baby with us and everything felt so smooth and easy.

Everything was perfect.

If you want to treat yourself to an exceptional safari experience and accommodation whilst in Sri Lanka then this is the place. The staff were lovely and we were looked after very well. Incredible dining experience and we had so much fun exploring Yala on the lookout for wildlife.

Prachtige plek en de service is echt uitmuntend! Reihan en het hele team zorgen ervoor dat het je aan niets ontbreekt. We hebben echt heerlijk gegeten en worden de hele dag in de watten gelegd. Ook de game drives in het park zijn super goed geregeld met veel uitleg over de dieren. Een echte aanrader!

Everything! The people, the food, the location, the property - everything was at least 10/10. The team at TWH was so attentive and full of a lovely energy, the food and drinks were out of this world, and the rooms were beautifully decorated. A very special place. Definitely recommend the all inclusive, because you get the safari. We only spent one night here, but it was a beautiful evening with our marvellous hosts and fellow guests - we all sat together and ate and drank and laughed. The team even organised a birthday card and cake for me - such a thoughtful surprise. Wish we stayed longer! Will 100% be back. Thanks a million everyone!

The food was outstanding - the best we had in Sri Lanka! The staff were welcoming and attentive - nothing was too much trouble for the butler, Mogu. The accommodation is outstanding - private, comfortable, impecable. We went on four half-day safaris, including one to block 1 and one to Bundalla, and had an incredible time. It was the highlight of our two week Sri Lankan holiday. Our guide, Kithmee, was a pleasure to spend time with. She was knowledgable, passionate and personable. She took time to get to know us, our interests and priorities, and our other experiences in Sri Lanka. Then she worked hard to optimise and customise our experience. She was so genuinely excited for us when we got to see the animals on our bucket list - and we got to see them all.

Before we arrived we were contacted but multiple members of the team through different media to organise our itinerary and confirm our preferences. Whilst this was definitely attentive, it was a little distracting and could have been better co-ordinated to avoid doubling up on questions.
