The Warden's House - Yala

Reihan and Claire took exceptional care of us from the get-go till the farewell. The property just screams privacy and luxury and so does the mentality of their staff. Reihan greeted us personally and also led the two safaris in his capacity as the head ranger. Could not recommend it more to anyone who hasn't experienced it. Block 5 in terms of the area for our safari felt kinda small in a good sense and we spotted a wide range of wildlife from crocodiles and elephants to leopards, mongooses, land monitors and birds. The food was delicious and rest assured there was plenty of it. Since we signed up for the all-inclusive package, we were pampered 24/7. The three-course meals were both absolutely yummy and generously sized. The cocktail were as delicious as potent. Unfortunately, we had only booked one night, but we'll sign up for 2 or 3 nights when we come back to appreciate the experience even more.

Een prachtige accommodatie, zeer sfeervol en van alle gemakken voorzien. Heerlijk zwembad, fijne tuin en midden in de natuur (‘s avonds liep er zelfs een olifant door de tuin!). De staf maakte het verblijf tot een waar feest, ongelooflijk attent (we kregen spontaan het recept van de kok van een gerecht dat we zalig vonden), en onze gastheer, tevens wildlife-gids Reihan Stephen was zeer bekwaam en kon ons veel vertellen over alles was we op onze safari’s wel en niet tegenkwamen. Zijn foto’s zijn prachtig. We hebben een luipaard, beer, bizon, krokodil, vele vogels en knaagdieren gezien. Onvergetelijk.

Where do I start! everything was beautiful from the calm garden inside the nature to the most poetic looking river, the room was huge and specially made for safari vibes. Each one of the staff was super nice and friendly thanks to (Mr. Reihen, Mangala, Mangula) for making our stay very special. The food and the starry calm night were amazing. We went on a safari trip with Mr. Reihen who was a professional guide and photographer, the tour was almost private, one car only. We went to zone 5 which only 20-30 safari cars were there so we could really enjoy the trip. We were very lucky to see many animals specially the beautiful leopard.

Exceptional property managed by Reihan and his team. Extremely considerate and attentive service from true hospitality professionals. Gardens bustling with wildlife. Quality of food exceptional considering the hotel is in a relatively remote area (as is the Yala park). Superb breakfast. Stayed 2 nights and it was hard to leave.

Amazing place, secluded, private, attentive staff and great food. Only has few reviews due to it being relatively new. Organized safari for us and we saw good wildlife. Staff super attentive, there are only 4 rooms so its a very private and personalized stay.

Our guide Kelum was outstanding—extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and culture of Sri Lanka, and passionate about sharing it with us. The safaris were not only exciting but also deeply enriching. The culinary experience was another highlight. Every day we were offered a fresh and diverse menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The drink selection was also great with carefully curated drinks. If you're looking for tranquility, high-level hospitality, and a deep connection to nature, The Wardens House is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to return one day!

Beautiful property and well appointed rooms. Lovely decor and amazing food. We were thoroughly spoilt by Claire and the team at Warden’s House. The daily safaris were an excellent bonus - we saw a leopard!! We had an unforgettable stay and can’t wait to go back.
