Ca' Laura - Murano Centro - 10 min from Venice

We were originally due to check in at 3, this was changed to 12, the review says you can go in and leave your luggage, you can’t, front door locked, nobody arrived, we waited to 1.30, in 30 degrees sat outside the property, no shade, we called the number on the door, doesn’t exist and shows on your phone as number in Spain, the contact number given on the booking, between us we made over 20 calls, left voicemails, texted, emailed and sent messages through booking. Com, no answer! I eventually contacted booking.com at 3.30 and they also tried to contact them, no answer, booking.com email to say we had to book elsewhere upto a certain value! Back to us again, thankfully we found somewhere …. We had to pay, again! And we have to claim it back, this is all after 4 hours of waiting in the heat!!! The new place was fantastic from the start to finish, they couldn’t do enough !! The best part about this is I had a text at 16.11 saying good morning g and when was I due to arrive. When I sent a message back she had the audacity to say that she was in the apartment waiting for us! I told her what I thought and sent the screenshot from booking.com confirming that ca Laura can not complete the booking, I heard no more not even an apology !!

I really liked the place.! It’s easy to find and the lady is so kind she gave us recommendation for restaurant !

The location was great. We didn't want to stay on the main island and Murano was perfect. The water bus station, Venier, was 100 yards away, which was very convenient. The actual apartment was clean and had everything we needed.

The entrance could do with redecorating, but it wasn't part of the living space, so we didn't mind at all.

The location was good, but it would have been nice to know the name of the closest vaporetto stop (Venier), and also the closest stop for the boats coming from/to the airport (Museo). We did a lot of unnecessary walking with our luggage the first day because we did not know where to disembark. It was hot and the apartment’s air conditioner had not been turned on to cool the place down. Pretty miserable arrival.

There are so many stairs and the listing only mentioned that it was a second-floor unit. What about the 20+ stairs without a handrail to get to a landing that accesses another 6 stairs (again no handrail) just to get into the apartment? The clincher was the smallest bathroom and shower I have ever seen. And to get to it - you guessed it - more stairs with no handrail! The stairs are very dangerous and the scuffs on the walls from people’s luggage tells the story of how hard they are to navigate. The bed in the main bedroom was also dangerous. The corners of the frame at the foot of the bed need to have protective bumpers installed. There is not much room between the bed and wardrobe and I ended up with a nasty purple bruise after hitting a corner while hanging my clothes. We had to wrap both corners with towels to prevent a recurrence. Amazon has corner bumpers for tables/hearths to keep kiddos from injury. You should get some for that bed. To get to the second bedroom, you have to leave the apartment, go down to the landing, exit through a door, cross a small “terrace” that you can use to hang laundry to dry, and enter a small room with no view. It smelled musty because the a/c hadn’t been used in a while. It really felt like a cave. If you needed the facilities, the bathroom is back in the apartment and you will have 2 sets of stairs to get there. Glad we decided not to use the second bedroom. The living room could stand to have at least one lounging chair added to the loveseat. Other than the 4 dinette chairs, there is only the loveseat to sit in and watch TV. The decorating was so sparse, you could say it was nonexistent. Murano is such a wonderful place, but you wouldn’t know it from this apartment. There was absolutely nothing charming about it.
