1 Bd. Deluxe Log DRY Cabin| Views Northern Lights!

The cabin was pleasantly quiet, remote and "wild" (for being close to town), sharing the driveway with just one other rental cabin. No ambient light, felt like being in the woods. Some cute details, i.e. stuffed toys, lots of blankets. T.V. and Wi-Fi worked pretty well. Kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment, no fewer than 5 wine-openers. The outdoor john was appointed with twinkle lights, small space heater and room-fresheners. You can enjoy the fire pit if you bring or collect firewood. There was an electric fire place available (we didn't use). No food or breakfast, but lots of coffee, sugar and a few spices. No indoor plumbing, but there is a kitchen pump sink and drain.

Main concern is safety for those who are disabled or not sure-footed. The hill leading up to the outhouse is short but somewhat steep and could be slippery in icy weather; awkward in any case, The steps leading to the front door are also a bit steep with no hand-railing. It is a rather small cabin with only one very small dining table and two chairs and a small couch. The cabin supposedly accommodates four people, but would be pretty tight, especially four adults. The lighting is rather dim. Although there is a $75 cleaning fee per stay, guests are asked to clean the kitchen, strip the bed, take out the garbage. There was no dishrag and only one dish towel provided (lots of paper towels, however). There was no check-in or contact with the rental agent (could be considered a plus or minus).

We did not get a breakfast there. Location was good, but too many mosquitoes.

I would have liked an indoor bathroom with a shower.

The location-close, but not too close, to Fairbanks. And it was very quiet at night!

It could have been cleaner. A little less “cute” and more attention given to the windows and dust in some areas. Also, the outhouse was too smelly. And it was not my first experience with outhouses!

This cabin is lovely. Everything was perfect
