Yew Tree Cottage, 3 bedroom, 4 Church Row Defynnog

Good location. That's the only positive.

1. No heating. Overrided by owners . Freezing upstairs and downstairs . Small electric fan given instead of central heating. 2. No water in Bath tub. It's been disconnected. 3. Shower intermittent hot water predominantly cold. 4. If shower runs. Water leaks through the ceiling and poses a fire risk as it's on the light fittings. 5. Dishwasher not working , toaster not working. 6. Questionable whether bedding was changed or not had marks all over cushions and sheets 7. Window locks broken on low bedroom windows. 8. Broken latch on front door. So door very stubborn and gets stuck. 9. Damp and water running down walls throughout the house 10. Damp near electrical plugs 11. Owners requested another £20 for dog despite it being completely included on my booking that pets are free. Asked us to leave an additional £20 cash at property 12. Coffee jar was full of rock hard coffee and dirty used food in cupboards. and plates needed to be washed b4 use.

Nothing!

The place is rotten. Almost nothing works. Not sufficient heating in the cottage at all. Not heating at all in the living room or the kitchen and also in the main bedroom. When we contacted the owner she said her kids dont use heater when asleep🤣🤣🤣 so the bedroom shoud be ok. About the living room there was a little portable heater in the airing cupboard🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 (note the the place is build of solid 50cm stone walls). Dishwasher doesnt work, toaster doesnt work, extractor fan doesnt work, the oven and hob extremely slow. The taps in the bath dont work. Electric shower keeps changing temperature. Windows at the front of the building so rotten and old as you feel like cars passing by your bed. Most of the walls in the property extremely wet and mouldy. Pipework to kitchen externaly ran troughout the bedrooms and make loud noise waking you up every time someone runs water in the kitchen. The bedding was not changed 1000%. The place must be visited from Booking representative for inspection. Not worth a penny. It is a complete joke...

The cottage had everything that we needed for an excellent stay. Easy to use lock box for the key. There is a nice pub just down the road. The kitchen was very well equipped with all mod cons. There was even a brand new air fryer.. Very homely and well decorated. We cant wait to stay there again on our next trip to the Brecon Beacons. The cottage backs onto a very quiet church yard with a beautiful old Yew tree.

Nothing to say here, which is very unusual for me.

Dog smell on arrival No warmth ....heating stored overnight so I was told but some then didnt come on in the am...old system Bath not working....shower also broken in places......an extensive water leak in the lounge downstairs ceiling.....no signage to say what works and what doesnt.....not fit for renting out at present.... All windows with broken fittings....? Safety of the place Cooker hob worn and so difficult to see usage....no instructions on use anywhere.... Broken blind in the kitchen
