"Great base for exploring the Lake District"

A very good, quiet base for exploring the local area. A lovely old property & well equipped.

Sometimes, parking on the road outside was very difficult. We managed & it didn't bother us to walk a little further back & forth to load up each morning, but might be an issue to some.

The location is quiet and you have all you need inside.

No store inside village to buy something. Driving 5-7 min to nearest restaurant if you want to eat.

"Great stay for a Coast2Coast hiker"

This is a fully equipped house. Overkill for the single Coast2Coast hiker, but appreciated. Brought my own breakfast, coffee making supplies were present for an early start on the path. Thank you!

There was everything available in the house to have a comfortable weekend. Very clean and quiet - just what I was looking for. Plenty of cleaning material to keep the place clean. Very comfy beds, quiet and private garden. Just perfect!

the parking is on street parking but there was normally a space near by. Situation in the western lakes meant an extra hour travelling but it also meant it was quieter!
