Charming 2BR Cottage in Devon | Fully Equipped & Cosy Retreat

Clean and spacious , good location

This is a lovely little place, in a very good location, train station is very close as are the shops and bars but in a quiet location so not disturbed by noise.

In the description of the property it implied that there were 3 beds and a sofa bed (2 doubles in room 1, 1 extra large double in room 2 and a sofa bed in the lounge) but unfortunately there was only 1 double bed in each bedroom which did result in us having to bunk up together, making it slightly less comfortable!

A mild smell of damp on ground floor but this was acceptable for the age of the building and thankfully there was no attempt to drown it out with artificial fresheners .A microwave would be a good addition for longer occupations and also perhaps a few condiments would be very helpful…also the upstairs loo seems to be pumped but flushing at night can simply be avoided ..but these are minor issues and must not take away from the fact that it’s is a great place to stay

Ideal location, literally 2 mins walk from the train station (for parking) and 2 mins the opposite direction to the promenade. Cottage had everything we needed for our short stay. Property was spacious and comfortable. Bedding was clean. Collecting the keys was easy enough even tho we were given conflicting instructions and different codes.

Sadly the only big issue was cleanliness. The cottage had been "straightened up" but definately had not been cleaned. The can of energy drink that had been left on the table out the back was testament to this. Also other places you could see needed a proper clean (and believe me im far from being a clean freak!). Bedding was clean and fresh. Make sure you bring your own tea and coffee. U will be given one coffee sachet per person. En suite toilet cannot be used at night without waking the entire street when u flush but thats due to the water pipework. Cottage was very tired, and needs a lot of TLC. Bed was broken and had been repaired by nailing a plank to the side.

Nice place, near the town centre.Had everything you need for a short stay.

Not a lot

It was very cold, we were promised a refund for the first of three nights but never received it. The cottage was dirty and I wouldn’t recommend it.
