Gorgeous 3 bed house in Matlock + Garden ‘lookout’

The house is nicely decorated and equipped. The hosts were amazingly responsive when needing to ask questions whilst there too. The beds were very comfortable...everyone wants to know where the mattresses are from! The house was great for us all to site round and spend quality time together. Plenty of room for cooking and chatting in one space.

Parking...as the description says plenty of parking but it is a busy (with parked cars) street so good parallel parking skills are a must if you want to park close to the house.

The lack of detail at how steep the stairs are in and outside of the house, so any future visitors who have mobility issues like myself are aware. There was a horrid smell in the house. The property is advertised as dog friendly but it's far from this. Having a shared back access and garden with the next door neighbour is not ideal when you have a very inquisitive young dog who has to stay to one side of the garden and kept on a lead, this also needs to be mentioned in the details of the property before payment had gone through because this would have swayed our decision to stay. The hand rail leading to the garden needs replacing, this is needed especially when it's wet to help you up and down the steps without getting a splinter The smoke detector on the first level doesn't have a proper secure cover there is just masking tape stuck over it. Lots of dust and cobwebs everywhere and peeling wallpaper. Some attention to detail on cleaning in the kitchen

The house was very much a home from home. Some lovely original features. Kitchen well equipped, comfy living room, comfortable beds with lovely thick towels provided. Shower Room was immaculate and a great shower We were 4 very old school friends sharing, but if you were with a partner, lovely bath in the top floor bedroom ❤️ Brilliant location for Chatsworth, Bakewell, Matlock Bath, Belper the list goes on. You can walk downhill into Matlock, lots of lovely places to eat, great little shops, especially for antique lovers. Beautiful Park if you have young children, lots to do there. Garden is very pretty with lots of places to sit and relax,.

We liked everything, and Amanda the hostess is a great communicator and was very helpful with recommendations.

This was the best property we've ever stayed at. The house was SO well equipt, comfy, and the host was pure joy. I can't think of a single area for improvement! The hideout is amazing, we watched the sunset with a glass of champagne on our last night - this is a special house perfect for making core memories! Even the next-door neighbour was delightful!

Great location, short walk to the centre of Matlock. I stayed here the night before my wedding with friends and it was perfect. The house was super clean and it was decorated and furnished to a very high standard. It was a short walk to Matlock centre which had plenty of pubs and restaurants. I even got a small wedding gift off the hosts. Thank you!

lovely pretty cottage, lockable pantry which was brilliant as we had a disabled adult who eats too much. comfy beds, lots of towels, large shower. terrific views. very clean well equipped for dogs. Matlock is very dog friendly everywhere we went was dog friendly.

the shared garden is typically Derbyshire but odd to non Derbyshire people. parking could be an issue
