"Very quirky"

5.0

Well equipped kitchen Lovely bathroom Local pub The Sycamore was great

Quite a quirky place, difficult to get in and out and around. Lights didn't work when coming home in the dark. Didn't feel exceptionally clean. Bedding was unironed. Towels had a strange smell. Couches scruffy, didn't want to sit on them. Would recommend a little table and chairs at the front of the property to take in the views instead of a rotten old bench overlooking the outhouses. I am quite fit and able, but to just have your morning coffee and have to climb upto the garden could be prevented by putting this in place.

Lookout at the top of the garden has amazing views. The cottage was clean and comfortable with all the equipment you need. We really enjoyed our stay.

A freezer would be good.

It was well located, beautifully decorated and lovely views. Great touches like milk in the fridge, coffee and welcome treats. Great communication with Amanda and Steve. We had a wonderful time.

"Cozy house on the hill."

8.0

A very cute terrace, typical of this region of England. The owners kindly supplied milk, tea and good quality coffee pods! The bath in the attic bedroom added a touch of luxury. The family bathroom was modernised and very clean. There was a great view from the Lookout (we saw it from outside but the key was available to guests).

The location was up a very steep hill, fine if you’re driving or very fit! We did walk into town and back up the hill. The house has steep stairs up to bedrooms and bathroom - which may impede other guests.

"50th Birthday Jolly"

8.0

Space, layout, and facilities. Coffee machine with pods, very welcome and generous. Everything was as specified. A huge range in the kitchen helped make cooked breakfast easy. Views across the valley were amazing, and Matlock is well connected with transport. The heating was warm, and the shared garden with dog enclosure was very welcome. We had six adults accommodated with comfort... supermarkets to buy food and local stores for convenience. Local attractions take advantage of Heights of Abraham, Peak Rail, Lumsdale Falls, Matlock Bath, Masson, Cromford Mills, Black Rock, Gullivers Land, Alton Towers 45mins.. plenty to do, as well as dog walks, trails, food...

Some maintenance was needed (mentioned to host). Perhaps mention the hilly nature? For us from flat Essex, the walk up the hill was extreme. There was parking in the street, but this is a busy road with many pinch points, causing blind spots that needed you to proceed with caution, as the local drivers took no prisoners...
