Papawai Townhouse 11

The accommodation was clean and functional, but there were a few aspects that impacted our comfort, which future travellers may want to be aware of.

There was a noticeable musty odour inside, particularly downstairs. The upstairs floor is also very creaky, which may be an issue for light sleepers. During windy conditions, a tree or something outside the building repeatedly hit the structure, creating significant noise overnight and making sleep difficult. The location felt less comfortable than expected, and while we had no incidents, the doors did not feel especially secure. The street-facing kitchen window has no covering, which made the space feel quite exposed, particularly at night.

No issues

Roomy comfortable duplex type home with a pretty well supplied kitchen. Nice design aesthetic and surprisingly not a lot of traffic noise from the fairly main road outside. Really great short walk to town - maybe under 10 min through the thermal park just down the road.

Thank god NZ drivers seem to all obey speed and signalling rules or getting into that driveway would have been far more stressful - tight turn left off the main road. That of course is in no way the owner's fault and nothing they can control but just thought I'd mention it.

The whole apartment was beautiful how it was laid out and I would recommend this to everyone. It was very warm and had a welcoming atmosphere. The person I spoke to on our arrival was very friendly and helpful and I appreciated that heaps

The only issue we had was we couldn’t get the tv to work on ordinary channels, and there was no information to help us. My sister had to use her phone so we could watch anything

Location and cleanliness was great with comfy beds. Water pressure was good here, which is always hit and miss with holiday homes. Also appreciated the washing machine for a quick load of togs after the hot n cold river.

The kitchen was missing some essentials such as a peeler a masher and a decent knife. The couch was also extremely uncomfortable but luckily we didn’t spend much time on it! Was quite expensive but relatively good compared to other options.
