Antique Mansion B & B

Breakfast was delicious and eating with two other guests was a treat. Sallie was welcoming and the house had lots of games, books and grounds to enjoy. The family suite is spacious and has plenty of storage for a longer stay.

Interesting old house, really nice host who was very responsive to text communications, and a comfortable, clean room that fit a family of 4.

Sallie is such a personable innkeeper. She truly cares about the property, area and her guests. It’s a historic home which radiates charm and Vermont history. The ‘secret garden’ area was fun to explore. The room was comfortable and provided all anticipated amenities. A very good breakfast - omelette, toast, fresh fruit and coffee - was prepared and served by Sallie.

It’s quiet. The lady of the house makes a good omelette.

I would recommend a better lock for the front door so that you don’t have to teach everyone how to open the door. Consult a locksmith. The bathroom under the stairs that is also a shower is designed quite poorly. There is water seeping into the tile and everything. The laundering of towels could be much better. The bedroom was okay as far as I could tell. I understand that the lady of the house is doing most things on her own. I felt like she expected me to disclose personal information in conversation even though she didn’t directly ask. She also gave me information about her personal life that I didn’t ask for. I think she meant well. I would like to encourage her to be more natural in her interactions. It feels like she is doing something that she has burdened herself with. She takes responsibility on herself and doesn’t ask for help with some of the details that could make the place better. I’m not getting the feeling that she loves customer service and wants it to be the best from her customer’s point of view. Rather, she needs to feel that she is doing everything she thinks is necessary and wants the customer to follow along.

Breakfast was great and the owner of the mansion was extremely accommodating and kind.
