Ty Afon - River House

Right away there was a friendly welcoming atmosphere, it was very homely. Our room was clean, comfortable with beautiful little touches of comfort and design. There was a fabulous range of teas, coffee, biscuits, water and even oat milk. Later on we had the sharing platter, which exceeded our expectations. The dining room was again very welcoming, homely and beautifully designed with a cozy bar area to the side. The beds were so comfortable we had a wonderful sleep and relax in the family room we stayed in. The shower and bath were also both very nice and clean. The breakfasts were exceptional, with a great choice for families with children. Fresh local produce and again a great selection of teas, fresh coffee, juices, fruit and cooked to perfection. All with a fantastic view. Set at the bottom of the mountain you are surrounded by beautiful views of nature that are so picturesque it’s mesmerising. A short walk away from the village which has some great restaurants, local pubs and shops including an amazing wood carving shop with the most beautiful carvings from nik naks to furniture. There is also a range of walks into and around the area for different abilities. We had the most wonderful stay and experience and will definitely be going back to stay. A big thank you to Emma and Craig and all the staff that went above and beyond!

We had the most wonderful weekend away here. The hotel is set in an idyllic location, with great walks right on the doorstep. The hosts were friendly and made us feel relaxed. The rooms are a good size, clean, and comfortable. While the bathroom was a little dated compared to the rest of the hotel, it was perfectly functional and spotless. Breakfast was excellent and overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They also had the most beautiful Christmas tree! We would definitely stay here again.

Given the excellent value for money, it was difficult to find any real faults. While the hotel bar was slightly expensive and our room was at times cooler than we would have preferred, these were minor issues. Overall, the experience was excellent.
